Introduction to Upcoming Changes

Welcome back to WowCarry, your go-to resource for all things World of Warcraft. As we've been doing regularly, today we're going to discuss the changes coming in patch 10.1.5, with a specific focus on class and specializations changes, PvP adjustments, and the introduction of a new class.

The Rise of Frost Mages

One of the major highlights of the upcoming patch is the massive overhaul of the Frost Mage. With new abilities like Slick Ice and Glacial Assault on the horizon, the Frost Mage's gameplay will evolve substantially. Let's delve into the specifics.

  • Slick Ice

Frost Mages can now unlock the new talent, Slick Ice, instead of Icy Propulsion. When the Icy Veins effect is active, your Frostbolt spell becomes more powerful. Each time you cast Frostbolt, its cast time is reduced by 2% and its damage is increased by 2%. This effect can stack up to 10 times.

  • Glacial Assault

Another new talent, Glacial Assault, is making its debut in patch 10.1.5. This talent allows the Flurry to call down an icy comet from the Comet Storm with a 15% chance, which shatters the boulder at your target, dealing massive Frost damage. Glacial Assault adds an interesting dynamic to the Frost Mage's gameplay, providing an extra layer of complexity and versatility.

Paladin Updates

In an effort to optimize the Paladin class, Blizzard is introducing a number of new changes in patch 10.1.5. These changes range from the rebirth of older abilities, such as Denounce, to adjustments of certain healing spells in PvP scenarios.

  • Denounce's Return

Denounce is making a comeback, replacing the Shield of the Righteous. This Holy Light bolt will deal Holy damage, and it will prevent the target from causing critical effects for the next six seconds. This change is intended to give Holy Power a new offensive Holy Power spender, particularly for PvP scenarios where the Shield of Righteous can be difficult to use effectively.

  • Changes in Healing Spells

In PvP combat, all healing spells will no longer be increased by nine percent. Also, mana regeneration has been reduced by 25%, down from the previous 35%. This represents a shift in balance towards making Paladins more offensive and less reliant on healing spells for success in PvP.

Adjustments in Other Classes

Beyond the significant updates to Frost Mages and Paladins, other classes such as Affliction Warlocks and Holy Priests are receiving tweaks to balance the gameplay further.

  • Affliction Warlock Adjustments

Affliction Warlocks are getting a significant damage boost to Unstable Affliction, increasing its damage by 25%. Additionally, Rot and Decay will now trigger from Shadowbolt and Drain Soul, adding a bit more versatility to the Warlock's arsenal.

  • Holy Priest Updates

The Holy Priest will see some significant changes in PvP combat, with the healing of the Holy Word: Salvation and Flash Heal getting reduced. These changes are part of an ongoing effort to make healer specializations feel more balanced in PvP scenarios.
