The First Week of Dragonflight To-Do List

December 01, 2022 20 minutes

Today I will talk to you about what you should be doing in the first week of Dragonflight. First, I'm going to quickly go into Leveling and the Dragonriding Glyphs before we go into the to-do list.

Leveling

Take your time to figure out things throughout Dragonflight but make sure you do the Main Story Quest Line. Make sure you follow it because it's essential. Otherwise, you won't be unlocking World Quests, and you won't be unlocking the Engine of Innovation which is important later on. The main campaign alone will get you to level 67. So you still have to do two levels and a little outside the main story quest line. I recommend you do side quests for any renowned faction you care about. So if you see a recipe, transmog, or anything that you want from Dragonscale Expedition Faction, then make sure you do the side quest in the Waking Shores. If you want something from Valdrakken Accord, do the side quests in Thaldraszus. You got the idea. In case you don't care about Renown, I still recommend doing the side quests in Thaldraszus, which is Valdrakken Renown, because it will unlock a questing area when you're renowned to level 5. Level 5 Renown gives you certain things that might be good for player power-related things early on. WowCarry also offers fast leveling services for you, as we also have plenty of options you can choose from. Thus, if you want to save time on your alts, please check out our leveling service.

Dragonriding Glyphs

Now let's talk about Dragonriding glyphs. You can pick them up in the Dragon Isles. They are located in static positions everywhere, and if you get them, they're basically like Talent points that you can use to advance your Dragonriding. You will have more Vigor - points your dragon utilizes to fly, you will have more abilities, and you will be quicker. You can immediately pick them up as soon as you learn Dragonriding early in the campaign. You will still be level 60 or 61, which will take approximately 20 minutes. Here is a video guide on picking them up within 20 minutes.

If you don't like the video guide, there's another way to do it. You can install Handy Notes. This way, you will see the dragonriding glyphs on your main map and your minimap. Then you can pick them up as you're questing in an area. Dragonriding glyphs are essential, but they will not speed up your leveling process as much. You don't have to do significant distances when you're questing, so having more Vigor will not be as helpful. However, if you want to pick them up immediately, go ahead.

Player Power

Now, let's finally get on the to-do list. First, I will split it into the player power gain to-do list and the non-direct player power game to-do list. That is because Dragonflight is not the same as Shadowlands, BFA, and Legion, where there are like a million systems, and all of them give you player power in some shape or form. Now, most of the major systems we have are entirely not player power related outside of passive, very indirect player power gains. Let's focus on the player power to-do list first:

  • Spark of Ingenuity

At the end of your main campaign, you will unlock something called Engine of Innovation, and then you will be able to get a quest there. Once you finish the quest, go back, and you will create a Spark of Ingenuity. This spark is required for crafting high-item level gear. Spark of Ingenuity is an incredibly limited resource because you get only one every two weeks until you have five. Afterward, it will just be available at any point. Make sure you don't waste it on some random crafted item. Also, ensure you look at which crafted items you want and maybe even wait before you craft anything until the first week. If you're crafting something with a spark, you will not be able to get that spark back, so you won't be able to craft a belt and afterward be like: "Oh, actually, I want boots" - that will not work for you.
To sum up: You can unlock Spark of Ingenuity through the main campaign. You get one every two weeks until you have 5. You will need it for higher item level 382/392 profession items. You will have to provide this item, even if you are not crafting it yourself. It's a limited resource, don't waste this! You can upgrade items to 418 eventually (when season 1 starts), so use it carefully! You will only have two sparks when the raid comes out.

  • Mythic +0

You want to do Mythic zero as it is the highest available item level (item level 372) outside the profession gear during week one. Keep in mind that you can do Mythic zero only once per week. We provide one of the best dungeon services in the industry, so if you want a smooth dungeon experience with a professional team, you can check out our Mythic 0 service.

  • Primal Chaos

Primal Chaos is the resource for crafting items. The fastest way to farm it during pre-season is by farming heroic dungeons. Once you've done Mythic zero, I recommend farming Primal Chaos. Primal Chaos is a soul-bound material that is used for professions. Almost all of the higher item level gear need Primal Chaos. You will need a lot of Primal Chaos later on if you want to craft them to item level 418. Also, Primal Chaos is required to craft the best potions in the game. Also, if you do a heroic dungeon, you will get one from each heroic dungeon.

Non-Direct Player Power Gain

Now let's talk about the non-direct player power gain to-do list, mainly focusing on Renown and Professions. Remember that Renown and professions do not give you any direct player power, so this is not required unless you want to do it.

  • Renown

If you want to farm Renown, do side quests while leveling for the major factions you wish to farm Renown. If you get certain renowned levels, especially early on, you will unlock additional quests like weeklies and dailies that you want to unlock as fast as possible. Reaching a certain Renown level quicker makes more sense. For example, if you're renowned level 5 for Valdrakken Accord, you will unlock an area called obsidian Citadel, which has lots and lots of weekly quests in there, which in return again gives you Renown. If you care about advancing your Renown, you want to ensure you do the side quests while leveling. Take your time all the way to level 70 by only doing crafting and main quests because otherwise, you might miss out on weekly and daily quests here or there. Once you reach level 70 and are done with the campaign, you will get a quest Aiding the Accord. This is a weekly quest you want to do if you want to farm Renown. It requires you to farm 3000 reputation towards any major faction plus an additional task that can be random. It usually happens naturally as you do other things, so you don't have to worry too much about it, but make sure you get it done. Do all of the World Quests. They also give you Renown and Reputation. Most world quests are repeated weekly, so you don't have to worry about them too much. You don't have to rush to max level because you have three and a half days to complete these World quests, and then they will switch to New World quests. Some of the quests are even weekly quests, so you have seven days to complete them, and some quests are daily, but those are the PVP world quests and the pet Battle quests, so they are not too big of a concern for most players.

  • Professions

Now let's talk about what you should be doing for your profession. While leveling, it's decently beneficial to go with Herbalism and Mining even if you don't want to do those professors later on. This is because while leveling, you can collect resources that we might need later on for certain other professions - just for the materials. Additionally, you will gather Artisan's Mettle which is soul-bound material you need for re-crafting items. Artisan's Mettle is a limited resource so picking it up while leveling with these Gathering professions makes a lot of sense.

Final Thoughts and Summing Up

Level up your character by going through main storyline quests as well as by doing some side quests; Do all Mythic zero dungeons for the highest available gear; Do Heroic dungeons for some equipment and Primal Chaos - a resource you will need later on for crafting high-level items. After you finish everything mentioned above, feel free to do Renown and Professions. That's it for the to-do list for the first week of Dragonflight, and I hope this helped you out. Go through this checklist, and I hope you will enjoy Dragonflight as much as I do. Thank you so much for reading.
