Patch 7.58: A Full-Day Outage, Then Easier NA/EU Grouping

All FFXIV Worlds are scheduled to go offline November 9 at 10:00 UTC and return November 10 at 10:00 UTC. Patch 7.58 then expands same-region matchmaking in North America and Europe. The outage is worldwide; the new NA/EU feature does not make North American and European players one matchmaking pool.

Maintenance Times and the Earlier Service Cutoff

Square Enix schedules 24 hours of downtime. The end can change. These are conversions of its published November 9, 02:00 PST to November 10, 02:00 PST window.

Data Center Travel stops 30 minutes earlier, at 09:30 UTC on November 9. Home World Transfer, character renaming and item/gift-code entry also stop then. Visiting characters whose Home World is in NA/EU, plus Japanese-home characters visiting Oceania, will be returned home.

Windows, Mac and Steam launchers may error until approximately November 10 at 04:00 UTC. That launcher milestone is six hours before the scheduled World reopening; it does not mean you can play then. Old Duty Recorder recordings become unplayable after maintenance.

What Same-region Matching Actually Changes

Physical DC means region; logical DC means a group of Worlds within it. NA and EU remain separate.

For a dungeon group, start with recruitment. Use the travel steps below when you need to visit a particular World.

Visiting Another Logical DC After the Update

For a visit within NA or EU:

  1. Interact with the main aetheryte in Limsa Lominsa, Gridania or Ul’dah—not a small Aethernet shard.
  2. Choose Visit Another World Server.
  3. Select the logical DC from the new dropdown, then the destination World and confirmation.

Congested or otherwise unavailable Worlds cannot be selected. A transfer may queue; once the World Visit window appears and the transfer begins, it cannot be cancelled. Travelling does not change your Home World.

Data Center Travel still allows NA/EU-to-Oceania visits.

What Still Requires Your Home World

Expanded grouping does not make every service region-wide. The World Visit manual remains useful for the restrictions on a visiting character:

  • Return home for retainers and collecting Delivery Moogle letters.
  • You can buy on a visited World’s market board; ordinary item listings remain tied to your Home World.
  • Regular linkshells are Home-World features. Cross-world linkshells are the separate expanded channel type.
  • You cannot create, join or leave a Free Company while visiting.
  • Visiting does not let you buy an estate or apartment there.

If you are meeting someone in person, agree on the exact World as well as the DC. Region-wide recruitment and physically standing in the same location are different tasks. For a market purchase, travel to the World whose board you intend to use.

If a Cross-world Linkshell Stops Working

Eight CWLS can stay active per region; extras become inactive, not deleted. Above the limit, use Organize CWLS to leave or disband surplus channels.

The inactive ninth entry remains listed; Organize CWLS manages the channels above the active limit. Open Square Enix’s full-size image.

Duplicate CWLS, team or fellowship names may gain numbers; character, retainer, Free Company and regular-linkshell names stay unchanged.

Lodestone Login and Ranked-season Planning

Lodestone has a separate schedule: partial restrictions from November 9 at 11:00 UTC to November 10 at 01:00 UTC, then no login until 10:00 UTC. News and Topics remain readable during the full login outage. World-status display and recent character updates can also be affected in the earlier phase.

The Season 21 notice ties Crystalline Conflict’s end to 7.58 maintenance. Finish ranked goals before the concrete maintenance start on November 9, rather than assuming all of November 10 remains playable. Tier rewards require at least one ranked match; ranking-reward cutoffs are top 300 in JP/NA/EU and top 100 in Oceania.
