This reference covers the Artisan unlocks available from Season of Discovery Phase 3 in 2024. Artisan raises the normal profession skill cap to 300. Use SoD’s character-level gate of 41, rather than the level 35 requirement often shown in generic Classic Era crafting guides. Most primary professions can train Artisan at 200 skill; Cooking, First Aid and Fishing use quests at 225.

Wowhead’s SoD profession-rank report explains the level 41 gate for progressing beyond 225. The Phase 3 trainer reference supplies the remote crafting destinations. Do not import a level 25 gathering requirement from a plain Classic reference into this seasonal progression.

The Six Primary Crafting Trainer Destinations

These are rank trainers, not a list of every recipe vendor. Faction-specific destinations are separated within each row; Blacksmithing, Enchanting and Engineering share a neutral destination.

ProfessionWhere to train Artisan
AlchemyAlliance: Kylanna Windwhisper, Feathermoon Stronghold in Feralas. Horde: Rogvar, Stonard in Swamp of Sorrows.
BlacksmithingBoth factions: Brikk Keencraft, Booty Bay in Stranglethorn Vale.
EnchantingBoth factions: Annora inside Uldaman. Clear the nearby scorpions to make her available.
EngineeringBoth factions: Buzzek Bracketswing, Gadgetzan in Tanaris.
LeatherworkingAlliance: Drakk Stonehand, Wildhammer Keep at Aerie Peak in The Hinterlands. Horde: Hahrana Ironhide, Camp Mojache in Feralas.
TailoringAlliance: Timothy Worthington, Theramore in Dustwallow Marsh. Horde: Daryl Stack, Tarren Mill in Hillsbrad Foothills.

For Annora, prepare for a dungeon visit rather than a city-trainer stop. Bring the reagents and money for any additional skill-ups or training you intend to do while there; learning the rank and learning later recipes are different transactions.

Herbalism, Mining and Skinning Use Local Trainers

These three gathering professions do not require a trip to one of the remote crafting specialists above. Use an eligible trainer for that profession in a major city; a city guard can mark the trainer’s location.

Check both your current profession skill and your character level before blaming a missing option on the NPC. The seasonal gate, available rank and recipe list are separate questions. A trainer not offering a particular recipe does not establish that the rank cannot be learned there.

Cooking: Bring the Clamlette Surprise Materials

At 225 Cooking, the Artisan route leads to Dirge Quikcleave in Gadgetzan. The original Classic quest route records these materials; keep SoD’s level 41 requirement when using it:

  • 12 Giant Egg
  • 10 Zesty Clam Meat
  • 20 Alterac Swiss

Alliance players can follow I Know A Guy... from Daryl Riknussun in Ironforge; Horde players can follow To Gadgetzan You Go! from Zamja in Orgrimmar. The objective is to complete Clamlette Surprise, not simply arrive at a Cooking trainer with 200 skill.

Collect the turn-in items before traveling. This is a material check, not a leveling shopping list: the ingredients needed to raise Cooking afterward depend on which recipes you choose.

First Aid: Complete Triage with the Supplied Bandages

At 225 First Aid, Alliance characters go to Doctor Gustaf VanHowzen in Theramore; Horde characters go to Doctor Gregory Victor in Hammerfall, Arathi Highlands. The Trauma breadcrumbs can direct you, but the Artisan unlock comes from Triage.

As described in the First Aid quest walkthrough, use the doctor’s Triage Bandages, not ordinary bandages from your bags. Save 15 patients before six die. Prioritize Critically Injured patients, then Badly Injured, then Injured, and turn the quest in promptly when complete.

Put the supplied bandage on a convenient action-bar slot before starting and position the camera so you can see the beds. This makes it easier to spot critical patients and switch targets promptly.

Fishing: Accept Nat Pagle’s Quest Before Touring the Zones

At 225 Fishing, find Nat Pagle off Theramore in Dustwallow Marsh and accept Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme. The Fishing quest guide identifies four quest fish from four different zones.

Use the quest’s named destinations instead of fishing in any convenient water in the same continent. Confirm the quest is active before beginning the circuit.

Quest fishDestination
Feralas AhiFeralas — Verdantis River.
Sar’theris StrikerDesolace — Sar’theris Strand.
Misty Reed Mahi MahiSwamp of Sorrows — Misty Reed Strand.
Savage Coast Blue SailfinStranglethorn Vale — Savage Coast.

Keep all four fish until the quest is ready to turn in. This is a quest route, not a promise of a fixed catch count or completion time.

Combine Nearby Stops Without Mixing the Unlocks

An engineer who is also working on Cooking can combine the two Gadgetzan visits after collecting the Cooking materials. Alliance players can pair Theramore’s Tailoring or First Aid stop with the start of Nat Pagle’s Fishing quest. These combinations reduce repeated travel when they fit your professions and faction.

Rank training still does not automatically unlock every SoD epic recipe, specialization or profession quest chain. Finish the Artisan step first, then follow the requirements for the specific item you want to craft.
