Essential Guide to Tier Tokens in the Season of Discovery

Essential Guide to Tier Tokens in the Season of Discovery

Season of Discovery Molten Core drops class-specific Tier Tokens for nine armor slots. Each class has updated set names by spec. Exchange tokens at Duke Hydraxis for your specialization's Tier 1 gear β€” full boss drop locations and set name table included.

Tier 1 Raid Sets in Season of Discovery

Season of Discovery's Molten Core brings the first tier of raid armor to WoW Classic, using the same token-based acquisition system as original Classic but with updated set names tied to each specialization. Each boss has a chance to drop a Tier Token for a specific item slot, designated for two to three classes. Exchange those tokens with Duke Hydraxis inside Molten Core to claim the piece matching your spec.

Updated Tier 1 Set Names by Class and Spec

Class Season of Discovery: Tier 1 Set Name Specialization
Druid Cenarion Eclipse, Cenarion Cunning, Cenarion Rage, Cenarion Bounty Balance, Feral DPS, Feral Tank, Restoration
Hunter Giantstalker Pursuit, Giantstalker Prowess Ranged, Melee
Mage Arcanist Insight, Arcanist Moment DPS, Healer
Paladin Lawbringer Mercy, Lawbringer Will, Lawbringer Radiance Holy, Protection, Retribution
Priest Twilight Prophecy, Dawn Prophecy DPS, Healer
Rogue Nightslayer Thrill, Nightslayer Battlearmor DPS, Tank
Shaman Earthfury Eruption, Earthfury Impact, Earthfury Relief, Earthfury Resolve Elemental, Enhancement, Restoration, Tank
Warlock Corrupted Felheart, Wicked Felheart DPS, Tank
Warrior Unstoppable Might, Immoveable Might DPS, Tank

Each set is tuned for its spec: a Balance Druid collects Cenarion Eclipse pieces while a Restoration Druid chases Cenarion Bounty. Tokens for the same slot drop from the same bosses regardless of which variant you need.

Where Tier Tokens Drop in Molten Core

Every Tier Token is tied to a specific item slot and drops from designated bosses:

  • Head: Incandescent Hood, Molten Scaled Helm, Scorched Core Helm (Garr and Onyxia)
  • Shoulders: Incandescent Shoulderpads, Molten Scaled Shoulderpads, Scorched Core Shoulderpads (Sulfuron Harbinger and Golemagg the Incinerator)
  • Chest: Incandescent Robe, Molten Scaled Chest, Scorched Core Chest (Golemagg the Incinerator, Sulfuron Harbinger, and Onyxia)
  • Gloves: Incandescent Gloves, Molten Scaled Gloves, Scorched Core Gloves (Lucifron, Golemagg the Incinerator, and Sulfuron Harbinger)
  • Wrist: Incandescent Bindings, Molten Scaled Bindings, Scorched Core Bindings (Shazzrah, Sulfuron Harbinger, and Golemagg the Incinerator)
  • Waist: Incandescent Belt, Molten Scaled Belt, Scorched Core Belt (Baron Geddon, Sulfuron Harbinger, and Onyxia)
  • Legs: Incandescent Leggings, Molten Scaled Leggings, Scorched Core Leggings (Magmadar and Onyxia)
  • Boots: Incandescent Boots, Molten Scaled Boots, Scorched Core Boots (Gehennas, Golemagg the Incinerator, and Onyxia)

Token drop rates are not guaranteed per kill; most bosses have a chance to drop one or two tokens per clear. Running the full raid maximizes slot coverage each week.

Exchanging Tokens at Duke Hydraxis

After obtaining a Tier Token, bring it to Duke Hydraxis inside Molten Core. He stands at the entrance at the start of the raid and relocates to Ragnaros' chamber once Ragnaros has been defeated at Heat Level 3. Hand him the token and choose the piece matching your specialization: a Restoration Druid selects Cenarion Bounty items; a Feral Tank takes Cenarion Rage.

Players working through Molten Core for the full nine-piece collection can get raid assistance through Browse our Season of Discovery boost services.
