Discoverer's Delight Experience Buff
One of the major updates in Phase 3 is the Discoverer's Delight experience buff. This buff provides a 100% increase in experience gains for all players up to level 39, making it an ideal time to explore Season of Discovery content. Players between levels 40 and 49 also receive an additional 50% experience buff, so whether you are new or returning, leveling has never been more efficient.
If you prefer to level at a natural pace, you can disable or enable the buff at any time by visiting an innkeeper in any capital city.
New Leveling Opportunities
Phase 3 opened up fresh ways to earn experience. Killing bosses in Gnomeregan granted players under level 40 a significant experience boost, making explore SoD dungeon carries worthwhile for both gearing and leveling. Characters at level 25 and above could also join Nightmare Incursions, a world event that awarded experience and reputation with the Emerald Wardens faction.
Whether players preferred dungeon runs or open-world events, Phase 3 supported a variety of playstyles.
Removal of Certain Leveling Methods
Blizzard removed some existing leveling shortcuts in Phase 3. Repeatable quest turn-in exploits were closed, meaning items like Marks of Honor, Wastewander Water Pouch, and Troll Tribal Necklace no longer served as speed-leveling tools.
The goal was a more balanced progression experience where all players moved through the same zones and activities rather than bypassing them with repetitive turn-in loops.
What Phase 3 Leveling Changes Mean for You
Season of Discovery Phase 3 gave players more paths to the level cap while closing the shortcuts that created uneven advantages. The Discoverer's Delight buff, Gnomeregan boss experience bonuses, and Nightmare Incursion events together built a leveling environment that rewarded active, varied play.
