Long-awaited by fans, the new Karazhan Crypts dungeon is the centerpiece of this phase. Located beneath the enigmatic spires of Karazhan, players can access this new challenge by obtaining an attunement from the Light’s Hope Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands.
The Karazhan Crypts are not for the faint of heart. This Level 60, 5-player dungeon requires players to navigate through darkness, where staying within the light becomes essential to survival. Unique hazards hidden in the shadows make teamwork crucial. This dungeon features a 24-hour lockout, emphasizing its difficulty and the rewards that await those who dare to conquer its depths.
The undead Scourge, led by the notorious Lich King, resumes its invasion, threatening the peace of Azeroth once again. These invasions are centered in Eastern Plaguelands, Azshara, Blasted Lands, Burning Steppes, Tanaris, Winterspring, and various major cities and dungeons.
Players are called to collaborate with the Argent Dawn to counter these menacing undead forces. By keeping an eye on the map, players can locate and thwart these invasions. Engagements with rare undead adversaries offer the chance to obtain valuable items that aid in your quests.
During the event, participants can collect Necrotic Runes, which are crucial for purchasing event-specific items such as Blessed Wizard Oil and Consecrated Sharpening Stones. These items are available from Commander Thomas Helleran at Light’s Hope Chapel. Moreover, additional quests related to the Scourge invasions can be accessed in major cities or from defeated Scourge invaders.
On February 6, the floating necropolis of Naxxramas opens its gates. As the seat of the powerful lich Kel’Thuzad, Naxxramas remains a formidable challenge that players can tackle either in groups of 20 or up to 40 for those seeking the ultimate test.
Inside, players will find that they can empower the quarters of Naxxramas to increase both the challenge and rewards, including new cosmetic items and improved loot drops. The highest difficulty setting unlocks new mechanics and the opportunity to earn Sanctified gear, which can be enhanced further with the Seal of the Dawn trinket.
Do not forget to visit Rune Brokers located in starting zones and major cities for essential runes and discovery items. These runes, crucial for Druids, Paladins, and Shamans, are remarkably accessible, costing only one copper each. However, keep in mind that players will need to possess a specific relic, which is also available from these vendors, to create certain advanced runes.
