Fire Led at the 95th Percentile; Feral Led the Broader View
Fire Mage ranked first for both overall damage and damage to bosses at the 95th percentile in this Icecrown Citadel snapshot. Feral Druid led both all-percentile chart orders. Fury Warrior was also in the top three in every view.
These are historical Wrath of the Lich King Classic results for the week of March 26, 2024, published in Anshlun’s April 3, 2024 Wowhead report using Warcraft Logs. The rankings below preserve the four original charts’ displayed orders.
Recorded filters: Icecrown Citadel, all bosses, Heroic, 25-player, DPS, all item levels, one week, aggregated using normalized scores, with the partition labeled Phase 4.5. Each damage metric appears in a 95th-percentile view and an all-percentile distribution view. The Phase 4 headline refers to the ICC raid era; Phase 4.5 is the more specific label visible in the screenshots.
All 24 DPS Categories Across the Four Charts
The rows follow the 95th-percentile overall-damage order. Each other column gives that category’s position in its own chart. Names retain Warcraft Logs’ categories, including Blood (DPS) Death Knight and Gladiator Warrior.

“All percentiles” is the order shown in the original distribution charts. It should not be read as the 95th-percentile order, a ranking of maximum parses, or a list of healer and tank specializations.
What Changes When You Change the View?
The leading group was consistent, but its order changed
Fire, Feral and Fury occupied the first three places in all four charts. Fire’s first place at the 95th percentile and Feral’s first place in the broader view answer different questions about the recorded results. Both belong in an account of this week.
Feral moved from third in 95th-percentile overall damage to second in boss damage, exchanging places with Fury. Marksmanship moved from fifth to fourth, while Retribution moved from fourth to fifth. Those are position changes between two metrics, rather than damage gains or losses caused by a patch.
Some categories differed more between percentile views
Arcane Mage appeared eighth in both 95th-percentile charts and eleventh in both all-percentile charts. Beast Mastery Hunter was fourteenth for 95th-percentile overall damage and nineteenth in the broader overall view. Blood (DPS) Death Knight was twelfth in both 95th-percentile views and fifteenth in both broader views.
Those differences make the broader distribution useful when reading a headline result. They do not establish why the results differ: player selection, encounter execution and the mix of recorded kills require their own evidence.

Use the Ranking to Choose a Comparison, Then Read the Logs
The horizontal axis in these charts is a normalized score. A score near 100 is not 100 DPS, and a three-position gap is not a three-percent damage gap. The distribution chart also shows that results within one category can span a wide range.
For a character-level review, begin with the same boss, raid size, difficulty and damage metric. Then inspect the report for the practical question at hand: target damage, time spent alive, cooldown timings or another specific part of execution. An all-boss aggregate can help frame that review, but it does not supply a rotation diagnosis.
Overall damage and damage to bosses also measure different contributions. Additional targets can be important to an encounter; a boss-damage-only comparison excludes that part of the damage total. Choose the metric that matches the encounter question before comparing positions.
