ICC’s March 5 Snapshot Had More Than One Leader

Fury Warrior led 95th-percentile overall damage, Fire Mage led 95th-percentile boss damage, and Feral Druid led both all-percentile charts. Those are the headline results for Week 22 of Wrath Classic’s Icecrown Citadel rankings, covering the week of March 5, 2024.

The historical captures come from Anshlun’s March 13, 2024 Wowhead report, using Warcraft Logs. The results below preserve all four views rather than treating one chart as a universal tier list.

Capture conditions: Heroic ICC, 25-player, all bosses, DPS, all item levels, a one-week range, normalized-score aggregation and Phase 4 (Buff). The two damage metrics are overall damage and damage to bosses. Each has a 95th-percentile chart and an all-percentile distribution.

Complete Positions Across All Four Charts

Rows follow the 95th-percentile overall order. Each other column gives that category’s position in a separate chart. Blood (DPS) Death Knight and Gladiator Warrior retain the source’s category names.

Where the Choice of Chart Mattered Most

Marksmanship passed Retribution in the upper-percentile boss view

Retribution Paladin was fourth overall and Marksmanship Hunter fifth at the 95th percentile. In the corresponding boss-damage chart, Marksmanship was fourth and Retribution fifth. Both broader charts kept Retribution fourth and Marksmanship fifth.

This is a useful distinction when reviewing a particular encounter. A strong overall position and a strong boss-target position answer related questions, but they are separate measurements.

Beast Mastery’s upper-percentile and broader positions differed

Beast Mastery Hunter was nineteenth overall and fifteenth for boss damage at the 95th percentile. It was twenty-second in both all-percentile charts. Subtlety Rogue also changed position with the metric: twenty-first overall and eighteenth for bosses at the 95th percentile, compared with twenty-first and nineteenth in the broader views.

These positions are observations from this capture. The charts alone do not identify a talent change, equipment choice or encounter strategy responsible for the differences.

Arcane and Affliction traded places around the top eight

Affliction Warlock was sixth overall and eighth for bosses in the 95th-percentile charts. Arcane Mage was eighth overall and seventh for bosses. In both all-percentile orders, Affliction was sixth and Arcane eleventh. Keeping the percentile attached prevents those two comparisons from being mixed together.

Use the Distribution to Choose the Next Question

The all-percentile graphic shows a spread of recorded results within each category. Its boxes and whiskers provide context that a single ordered position cannot. The axis is a normalized score, so a position difference should not be converted into an exact raw DPS or percentage damage gap.

If your character’s performance is the concern, narrow the review to the relevant boss and inspect an individual report for survival, target uptime and the actions that matter for that encounter. The aggregate ordering is a starting point for choosing a comparison, rather than a diagnosis of one player.

For historical comparisons, match the filters and retain the March 5, 2024 date. The visible Phase 4 (Buff) label does not state a numeric buff percentage. Later rankings with a different partition describe a different dataset.
