Fury Led Overall Damage, While Fire Led Damage to Bosses
Fury Warrior was first for 95th-percentile overall damage in the January 23, 2024 ICC snapshot. Fire Mage was first for damage to bosses, and Feral Druid occupied second place in both of those charts. In the broader all-percentile charts, Feral was first for both metrics.
These are Week 16 results from Anshlun’s January 31, 2024 Wowhead report, using Warcraft Logs. The week being measured and the later publication date are separate parts of the historical record.
Visible chart filters: Heroic Icecrown Citadel, 25-player, all bosses, DPS, all item levels, a one-week range, normalized-score aggregation and the partition Phase 4 (Buff). The four charts compare overall damage and damage to bosses at the 95th percentile and across all percentiles.
All 24 Categories and Their Four Positions
The row order follows 95th-percentile overall damage. Other columns give the position in their respective charts. Warcraft Logs’ Blood (DPS) Death Knight and Gladiator Warrior labels are kept as displayed.

What Changed When the View Changed?
The leading trio answered different damage questions
Fury, Feral and Fire were the 95th-percentile overall top three. For boss damage, Fire moved to the first displayed position, Feral remained second and Fury was third. Retribution stayed fourth and Marksmanship fifth in both views.
The all-percentile overall chart placed Feral, Fury and Fire first through third. Its boss-damage counterpart placed Feral, Fire and Fury in those positions. The category at the top therefore depended on both target selection and percentile selection.
Blood’s label described a DPS category
Blood (DPS) Death Knight was tenth in both 95th-percentile charts and thirteenth in both broader charts. The result belongs to the DPS category named in the capture; it should not be read as a Blood tank ranking. The selected role is part of the result.
Arms and Assassination showed different patterns
Arms Warrior was seventeenth overall and nineteenth for boss damage at the 95th percentile, compared with nineteenth and twenty-second in the broader chart orders. Assassination Rogue was fifteenth overall and twelfth for bosses at the 95th percentile, with eleventh place in both all-percentile views.
Those examples show why keeping all four positions is useful. They describe ordering within each view, without turning a position change into a percentage damage difference or a claim about its cause.

Compare an Encounter Before Diagnosing a Character
The aggregate charts use normalized scores. Their axes do not provide a shared raw DPS value for every category, and the distance between two positions does not measure an exact damage gap.
For a practical review, start with the encounter and the question you need to answer. Overall damage can include additional targets, while boss damage narrows that selection. Then inspect a suitable individual report for survival, target uptime and the relevant actions. A raid-wide ordering cannot show those details on its own.
Keep the January week and the Phase 4 (Buff) partition attached to any historical comparison. The visible label does not provide a separate numeric buff setting, so the capture should not be expanded into an unsupported exact-buff claim.
