Exciting times are ahead for players of WoW Classic as the development team has recently unveiled the preliminary patch notes for Season of Discovery Phase 4. The Public Test Realm (PTR) for this phase is officially live, offering a tantalizing preview of what’s to come. This latest update promises a slew of new features, class adjustments, and much more, aimed at enriching the player experience. Let’s dive into what Blizzard has in store for this latest iteration, highlighting key changes and how to effectively engage with the PTR.

Getting Started with the PTR

  • Access to the PTR

The current focus for testing revolves around the level 60 character pool with all associated runes. Blizzard encourages active feedback on the array of class and rune modifications introduced. They emphasize that the job is far from over—expect ongoing tweaks and changes. To participate, players need to launch the WoW Classic Era PTR from their game client, select the "Seasonal" tab on the realm selection menu, and hop onto the Classic Seasonal PTR realm.

  • Level 60 Character Templates

Upon creating a new character, they will be automatically leveled to 60 and equipped with the latest Dungeon or "Tier 0" sets. This gear, along with a selection of other items including the upgraded "Tier 0.5" sets, will appear in their inventory. All characters in this realm will also enjoy access to all rune abilities and skills pertinent to their class up to level 60, ensuring they are battle-ready.

Features & Content Available for Testing

  • Explorable Areas and Vendor Access

Players can explore the Sunken Temple and all usual dungeons to test out the latest class adjustments within these contexts. Special vendors and test dummies have been set up in both Stormwind and Orgrimmit for selling basic supplies, and some weapons and gear from the Sunken Temple.

  • The Searing Basin Test Raid

For a more challenging experience, head over to the Searing Basin by speaking to Gurgthock in either Stormwind or Orgrimmar. Whether you choose to brave it solo or with a raid group of up to 20 members, the test boss "Testwerk," who is designed to be confronted by tanks and healers, awaits.

New Runes and Class Adjustments

Class New Rune Ability Changes
Druid Improved Swipe, Tree of Life, Starfall Changes to Wild Growth, Rake, Rip, and baseline ability adjustments

Players are encouraged to explore, experiment with the new additions, and provide their invaluable feedback.
