How to Get PvP Gear in WoW Forever
Honor buys PvP equipment; Rank Points unlock higher-rank rewards. For epic armor, follow this route: blue base piece → required rank → matching Emboldened Seal → epic upgrade. Earning the rank does not automatically award or equip the item.
Forever launches November 4, 2026 at 23:00 UTC. The requirements below follow Blizzard’s announced system; inspect the in-game offer before spending.
Check Honor and Rank Points Separately
Blizzard’s PvP progression overview lists kills, battlegrounds and relevant quests as Honor sources. Battlegrounds and relevant quests also award Rank Points, with holiday battlegrounds offering extra progress. Ranks have a weekly cap.
Open Character Pane (C) → Player vs. Player to see your rank, Rank Points and eligible rewards.
Need Honor? Work toward the purchase cost. Need a higher rank? Follow Rank Points and the weekly rank cap. More currency does not bypass a rank requirement.

Find the required rank for your next reward below. Rank 14 leads to Grand Marshal for Alliance or High Warlord for Horde.

Example: an epic belt uses the rank-8 upgrade gate. Keep its matching blue base piece and check the seal purchase. The mount milestone is rank 11; it is a different target.
Upgrade the Correct Blue Piece with an Emboldened Seal
An epic armor upgrade needs the matching blue piece and an Emboldened Seal. The seal’s purchase has a rank gate. Compare the offered slot and role before spending Honor.
- Select the result you want. Identify the slot and intended role before buying the base piece.
- Inspect the base item. Check that it belongs to the upgrade path you are planning, rather than selecting any blue item of the same armor type.
- Check the seal requirement. Use the relevant rank milestone above and read the actual purchase offer.
- Review the complete cost. Confirm the required item and currencies before completing the transaction.
Keep the base piece until its upgrade is complete. If a purchase is unavailable, check the required rank, matching item and full currency cost separately.
You Can Join Battlegrounds Without Choosing the PvP Ruleset
The official ruleset rules allow battlegrounds across non-Hardcore rulesets. Normal keeps outdoor PvP discretionary; PvP and Roleplay PvP expose you to opposing players much more often. Ordinary cross-ruleset grouping is unavailable, and factions cannot group together.

Start with an Objective You Understand

Darkspear Islands is the new 15v15 battleground for levels 30–60. Teams hold four capture points and deliver a central flag to a captured base; the first to 2,000 points wins. Blizzard’s battleground preview gives the objective and access routes.
Queue through a capital-city battlemaster or the faction’s Barrens portal: the Horde Darkspear Raiders at the Merchant Coast, or the Alliance Theramore Expeditionary Force at Northwatch. Their bases also offer quests and reputation vendors.
Play the objective: hold a captured point when it is threatened, and check which friendly base can receive the flag before carrying it there. Chasing one opponent away from an undefended point can give up the objective your team needs.
For a Darkspear reputation reward, check standing with the Darkspear Raiders or Theramore Expeditionary Force separately. The PvP rank table does not replace that reputation requirement.
Connect PvP to Your Legacy Goals
The Legacy overview lists PvP rank, reputation and seasonal-journey challenges. For Great Honor boosts Honor, not an announced Rank Point multiplier. Each character can allocate up to 16 Legacy Points at launch.
