The expansion confirms a return to Travincal — the Zakarum stronghold set within the Kurast Jungle that featured prominently in Diablo II's Act III. Travincal was once a sprawling centre of Zakarum faith, now collapsed into ruin and overrun. Returning to this setting carries significant lore weight for long-time franchise players while giving new players a historically rich zone to explore for the first time.
