The 25% Discount Was an October 2023 Offer
On October 17, 2023, Wowhead reported a 25% Battle.net discount across Diablo 4’s Standard, Digital Deluxe and Ultimate editions. The promotion coincided with Season of Blood and Patch 1.2.0. These are historical US-shop prices from that offer, rather than a current sale announcement.
The original report by silec recorded:
| Edition | Reported US sale price in October 2023 |
|---|---|
| Standard | $52.49 USD |
| Digital Deluxe | $67.49 USD |
| Ultimate | $74.99 USD |
The same report linked separate US and EU shops, but its quoted amounts came from the US shop. They should not be treated as European prices or converted into a claim about a current regional promotion.
What Distinguished the Original Digital Editions?
Blizzard’s original edition announcement described the following base-game and upgrade benefits. Its preorder timing bonuses belonged to the original launch period.
| Original edition | Main Diablo IV benefits |
|---|---|
| Standard | Diablo IV base game. |
| Digital Deluxe | Base game, Temptation Mount, Hellborn Carapace Mount Armor and a Premium Seasonal Battle Pass unlock. |
| Ultimate | Deluxe benefits, with an Accelerated Seasonal Battle Pass unlock including 20 Tier Skips and a cosmetic, plus the Wings of the Creator Emote. |
The pass wording described an unlock, not a subscription granting every future season’s Premium Pass. The Ultimate edition’s Wings of the Creator was an emote, while the Hellborn Carapace was mount armor.
Inarius Wings and the Murloc Pet Belonged to Diablo III
The original announcement also listed Inarius Wings and the Inarius Murloc Pet for Diablo III across all three digital preorder editions. They were not a Diablo IV pet-and-wings package exclusive to Digital Deluxe.
It separately listed the Amalgam of Rage Mount for World of Warcraft and the Umber Winged Darkness Cosmetic Set for Diablo Immortal. Those games were sold separately, and availability varied by platform and region.
Open Beta access and up to four days of original-launch early access were time-specific preorder benefits. An October 2023 purchase could not provide early access to a June launch that had already happened.
The Premium Pass Was Separate from Seasonal Gameplay
Blizzard’s post-launch systems overview separated the free and Premium Battle Pass tracks. It described the Premium track as cosmetic rewards and Platinum, without additional in-game power; gameplay-affecting Season Blessings used Smoldering Ashes from the free track.
Season of Blood introduced its five endgame boss encounters alongside the leveling and seasonal changes. The higher-priced editions supplied their listed bundle extras, rather than a different set of those boss encounters.
