Rob2628’s Early Attempt Was One Point in the Progression
Rob2628’s early Abattoir of Zir Tier 25 showcase demonstrated a difficult attempt, while later December 2023 reports documented clears. The original “unbeatable” discussion belonged to that early stage of Season 2 progression.
The player in the showcase was Rob2628. Tharid’s December 12, 2023 report described his Barbarian attempt and the obstacles he encountered.
What the December 12 Report Described
- A Chinese community member opened the Tier 25 portal for Rob on the Asia servers. The report described high latency during the attempt and said Rob subsequently cleared Tier 24 himself.
- The showcased Barbarian used Hammer of the Ancients and Whirlwind setups. Its damage did not keep pace with the challenge timer in that attempt.
- The report listed Tier 25 monsters at level 160 and cited roughly 1,300% increased health over Tier 1 as an estimate from Rob and the community.
The health figure was a contemporary estimate, not an official monster-health table or a universal damage requirement. The unsuccessful attempt also did not establish a permanent limit for every character and later build.
By December 14, Clear Reports Had Appeared
Icy Veins’s December 14 report credited Czing and their group with a Tier 25 completion. It linked Rob’s English commentary on the clear and reported a level-140 Tears of Blood Glyph. The publisher explicitly left world-first status uncertain.
This later reporting changes how the earlier showcase should be read: entering the final tier and finding it beyond one setup’s damage was part of progression, not proof that the tier would remain uncleared.
Entry, an Attempt and a Timed Clear Are Different Results
Blizzard’s original completion rules required killing enough enemies to summon the Bloodseekers and defeating them within ten minutes. An open Tier 25 portal demonstrated access; it did not by itself demonstrate a completed run.
When comparing these historical results, keep the run date, character setup and Glyph level attached to the footage. A later clear with a more developed setup answers a different question from an earlier attempt that ran out of time.
