Choose a Mount Route and Clear Space for the Rewards
A trial drop, a seven-mount quest and a fixed currency exchange need different plans. These three permanent mount routes came with FFXIV 7.5, Trail to the Heavens. The wardrobe changes from that release also remain useful when organizing a growing collection.

Three Mounts with Different Acquisition Rules

If Nihility is your only missing wing, that trial also addresses the final collection gate for Legacy. If several wings are missing, plan those duties individually instead of treating the capstone as a single new-trial reward.
Wings of Nihility: Keep the Drop and Token Paths Distinct
After the relevant 7.5 story progress, speak with the Wandering Minstrel in Tuliyollal at X:11.1, Y:14.6 as a level 100 combat job to unlock the Extreme trial. Arrange a group for the fight and distinguish its mount loot from gear and weapon exchanges.
The 7.55 notes increased the mount’s drop rate without publishing an exact percentage. The current item record still lists the trial as its obtained-from source and no purchase source. Do not assume that collecting 99 Totems of Naught buys the wings merely because earlier trial mounts gained token exchanges.
That is a dated acquisition check, not a prediction about a future update. Recheck the actual vendor listing before committing a saved token balance to a particular reward.
Wings of Legacy: The Quest Starts in Tuliyollal
Speak with the Tonawawtan Boy at X:15.3, Y:7.5 for The Wing Spirit Cometh. Its database prerequisite includes the main-scenario quest A Grave Presentiment. The seven required mounts are:
- Wings of Ruin
- Wings of Resolve
- Wings of Eternity
- Wings of the Knighthood
- Wings of Death
- Wings of Mist
- Wings of Nihility
Compare the names with your Mount Guide before traveling. The quest’s level 1 label does not remove its story and collection prerequisites. Solution Nine’s trial exchange vendor is a different NPC from this Tuliyollal quest giver.
Alexandrian Axe Beak: Plan Around Weekly Faux Hollows
The horn’s 600-leaf price is fixed; a Market Board price is not. Choose whether to spend earned leaves or gil, then check the actual balance or listing before making the trip.
Faux Hollows uses a weekly opportunity after an Unreal clear, with a possible retelling that permits one additional opportunity that week. Repeated daily clears do not create an unlimited daily leaf income. The 7.5 Unreal duty is Shinryu’s Domain; check the active duty in Raid Finder when planning a later patch.
Use the Dye and Storage Changes Before Filling the Dresser Again
The official 7.5 system notes support this practical cleanup order:
- Sort dyes. Ordinary colors consolidate into Standard Spectrum Dye, Wide Spectrum #1 Dye and Wide Spectrum #2 Dye. Rare and Online Store dye exceptions remain separate. Carry old eligible pots in your inventory to a Calamity Salvager in Limsa Lominsa, Gridania or Ul’dah for exchange; cancel old market listings manually.
- Check the armoire. Class/job gear and instanced-dungeon gear from 7.0 onward gained support, with certain class/job weapons and tools excluded. Check eligibility before consuming dresser space.
- Check compatible outfit sets. Support expanded to Hall of the Novice, selected 2.x dungeon gear and dungeon gear from 3.0 onward. The creation window gained Try On, and individual pieces can be removed from a stored set.
Use the preview to check both dye channels before applying color. When reclaiming an outfit piece, confirm which pieces you selected in the game’s restoration window. Neither the expanded armoire nor outfit support makes every unrelated item eligible for storage as a single set.
