Monster Hunter and Final Fantasy Crossover Excitement

On September 29th, 2025, Monster Hunter Wilds welcomed its first crossover with Final Fantasy XIV in the Omega collaboration, bringing a host of enticing rewards. Initially, the official website revealed details such as Dark Knight and Piktomancer spells, but revelations from Tokyo Game Show 2025 highlighted exclusive content for the Savage mode version.

Exclusive Rewards in Savage Mode

The highlight of the event was the permanent quest Planet Protocol Savage, which released simultaneously with Normal mode. Unique to the Savage version were several items:

  1. Omega-themed hairstyle and gear
  2. Insect Glaive featuring a kinssect styled as Omega
  3. Omega Sword and Shield set
  4. A floating pendant dubbed "OMG"
  5. Manderville Mambo emote from the Manderville quest line

These items echo past crossovers like the Behemoth dragon armor in Monster Hunter World, fulfilling players’ desires for iconic gear with fresh designs.

With the Monster Hunter Wilds side of the crossover now outlined, attention turns to what Final Fantasy XIV will bring to the partnership.

What the FFXIV Side Delivered

The FFXIV side of the collaboration launched October 7, 2025 with Patch 7.35, adding The Windward Wilds trial featuring Guardian Arkveld as the boss.

FFXIV players received:

  • Piktomancer and Dark Knight armor sets with unique combat abilities
  • Veldian weapons covering all 24 combat jobs, plus the Seikret Horn mount
  • The Felyne Support Team Cart Horn multi-rider mount and the Hope glamour set

Both Normal and Extreme difficulties are permanently available with no announced expiry date.

The Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 3 launched September 29, 2025, available on PC and console. Performance at launch was manageable on mid-range hardware.
