How Hush Works in VALORANT Patch 13.09

Hush joined VALORANT on October 27, 2026. The new Duelist rewards deliberate utility placement: decide where an effect should finish, who might be caught by it, and how your team will follow. Start with the controls and targeting boundaries before attempting elaborate combinations.

The ability reference follows Riot’s official Hush profile. Patch 13.09 adds an important passive clarification: increased-range Spike pickup applies on the attacker side.

Hush’s Five Abilities and Their Controls

FIRE, ALT FIRE, REACTIVATE and INTERACT refer to your configured actions. Check their current bindings rather than translating these instructions into somebody else’s keyboard layout.

Telekinesis · Passive

Pick up weapons and interact with switches from increased range. On the attacker side, the passive also extends Spike pickup reach.

Displacement · Redirect, Pull and Collide

Equip it, then use FIRE to throw or ALT FIRE to prepare it. REACTIVATE directs it toward your crosshair. A surface impact or delay triggers a pull affecting all players; collisions with surfaces or other players cause concussion. It refreshes after two kills.

Flashbulb · Redirect a Flash

Equip, throw with FIRE or prepare with ALT FIRE, then redirect with REACTIVATE. It detonates on a surface or after a delay, flashing all players looking at it.

Flow · Anchor, Pause and Move

Create an anchor instantly. Casting while airborne briefly holds Hush in place; after a delay she propels toward the anchor.

Suspension · Steer and Detonate

Prepare it instantly, FIRE to launch, steer with your crosshair, then REACTIVATE or FIRE again to detonate. The detonation levitates all players caught in the effect. Suspension costs eight ultimate points.

The release descriptions do not supply every radius, timing or purchase price. Inspect the current client before planning an exact lineup around those numbers.

Plan the Landing Point Before the Throw

A useful starting approach is to choose one corner you want to contest, then identify where your utility should finish. Tell your teammate which side you intend to clear. An unexpected pull can interfere with an ally’s angle, while a flash becomes a problem if your entry partner is looking into its detonation.

Riot’s wording includes all players. Include allies in your planning. Agree on who waits, who turns away, and who moves after the effect. Keep those calls short enough to use during a round.

Practise the first throw separately from the redirect. Move your crosshair, reactivate, and observe the path. Then repeat near a wall to learn how surface-triggered detonation changes the available steering window. Treat this as a short learning drill and repeat it until you can explain where the effect will finish.

Give Flow a Destination and a Follow-Up

Before committing movement, identify the angle you expect to reach and the teammate who can support it. If the plan requires everyone else to guess your destination, simplify it. A movement ability can change position without solving the problem of arriving alone.

Learn the airborne pause somewhere controlled before relying on it under fire. Compare starting from the ground with starting in the air, watch the delayed movement, and check your surroundings after arrival. Build familiarity with one repeatable use before layering a throw, redirect and movement into the same attempt.

Give Spike Recovery an Exit Plan

On attack, agree who will recover a dropped Spike before sending two players after it. Increased pickup reach can change who handles that task, but decide the escape route as well as the pickup. The objective still needs a coordinated next step.

What to Judge in Your First Matches

Review decisions you can repeat: did the flash let someone contest an angle, did the pull disrupt a teammate, and did your movement leave support behind? Watch the moment before an unsuccessful engagement as carefully as the elimination itself.

Early Performance Scores need context. Riot’s 13.09 release notes warn that Hush’s scores may fluctuate while utility evaluation is tuned. Use that feedback alongside what happened in the round, then adjust one decision at a time.
