S tier: Groot, Magneto, Thor. Groot's wall-and-stun control remains the most consistent S7.5 vanguard pick; he loses tempo only against high-DPS skirmish comps (Hela, Moon Knight, Phoenix). Magneto is the low-floor Vanguard: his shield uptime carries low-coordination lobbies and still scales into coordinated play. Thor is S only in the hands of a player who knows how to maximise his hammer rotation; pair him with a frontline shield and he runs free.
A tier: Deadpool (Vanguard form), Dr. Strange, Hulk, Peni Parker, Venom, Emma Frost, Angela. Deadpool drops here purely on the ultimate nerf — 80 to 60 HP on hit, 60% to 40% attack speed bonus, and the Ban Hammer engagement window is shorter. Dr. Strange holds A on his portal and Invisible Woman synergy. Hulk surpassed Captain America in dive effectiveness once Cap's animation-cancel exploits were patched out in the S7 hotfix on March 20, 2026. Peni Parker jumped C to A on the web-and-Bionic-Spider-Nest buffs: max webs went 3 to 4, HP cap 150 to 200, projectile speed 120 to 150 m/s. Rogue's placement floats on Gambit ban-rate — with Gambit banned less in S7.5, Rogue is mid-A in the right comp but mid-B in solo queue.
The duelist board carried the most movement of any role through S7.5, mostly because of one new hero and one team-up nerf.
S tier: Hela, Magik, Phoenix, Namor. Hela holds S despite the Guardian of the Deep team-up nerf because her own kit was not directly touched; the trim is on the symbiote-trio synergy, not her marksmanship. Magik continues to punish dive-heavy comps with her portals and invulnerable teleport. Phoenix is the patch's S-tier poke hero on raw damage-per-second with cooldowns; Namor climbs to S in solo queue specifically as the anti-dive counter to the patch's dive-friendly map rotation.
A tier: Black Cat, Moon Knight, Black Panther, Iron Fist, Hawkeye, Elsa Bloodstone, Deadpool (Duelist form), Squirrel Girl. Black Cat is the patch's headline addition; her dive-and-sustain skirmish kit places her at the top of A with upside if no nerf comes. Moon Knight's flanking engages have been re-shaped but stay viable B-to-A depending on map; mid-A is the right read. Black Panther's kit looks dated next to Black Cat — community calls for a rework are loud — but he is still A-tier in coordinated hands. Iron Fist's combo-chain rewards mechanical players, and he duels tanks better than most A-tier picks. Hawkeye sits at the bottom of A purely because of competition with Phoenix and Elsa.
B tier: Iron Man, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Storm, Bucky (Winter Soldier). Bucky drops from A to B on the Bionic Hook cooldown bump (12 to 15 seconds), which broke the diver-counter rotation his kit was built around. Iron Man needs coordinated support to thrive; solo queue caps him at B. Spider-Man is map-dependent. Wolverine works into tank-heavy enemy comps where his health drain matters; Storm is a niche map-control pick on Convergence when the air lanes are open.
C / D tier: Black Widow. Black Widow's kit has been outdated for several patches; a kit rework has been on the community wishlist for patches without shipping. Currently unviable in ranked.
The Strategist role moved on the Bucky nerf, the Hela/Namor team-up downshift, and the Chain-CC Protection mechanic, which gives Strategists more agency against dive comps.
S tier: Luna Snow, Invisible Woman, Cloak & Dagger. Luna Snow keeps S on her ultimate's team-fight pivot value. Invisible Woman pairs with every S-tier tank and Duelist in the patch — she is the closest thing to a forced-pick Strategist. Cloak & Dagger remain the patch's healing engine.
A tier: Mantis, Adam Warlock, Loki, Rocket Raccoon, Jeff the Land Shark. Mantis is the all-purpose pick at A floor. Adam Warlock plays well when paired with the right Duelist comp. Loki sits A on his deception kit; Rocket's revive picks him into deathball comps; Jeff's panic-button ult is the lower-A pick when the team needs disengage more than frontline anchor.
B tier: Bucky (Winter Soldier). Bucky drops from A to B on the Bionic Hook cooldown bump (12 to 15 seconds); the cooldown was Bucky's whole diver-counter package; three extra seconds breaks the team-fight rotation.
Chain-CC Protection is the patch's headline systemic change. When accumulated crowd-control duration on a hero crosses 5.5 seconds, the next CC application purges and grants a starting 30% Tenacity buff (rising with subsequent CC, up to 100% immunity). The consequence is that dive comps relying on CC chains (Magneto wall, Hulk grab, Cap stun) lose the late-stage payoff; the diver still gets the opener but the kill window is shorter.
The Guardian of the Deep team-up (Hela + Venom + Jeff the Land Shark) lost bonus HP from 100 to 50 and per-second healing from 70 to 60. The pairing remains S-tier but the buffer no longer carries the comp on its own. Lucky Loan (Black Cat + White Fox + Captain America) is the new team-up introduced with Black Cat; it gives the group a coordinated cooldown reset on knock-out which makes Black Cat the natural anchor of a new comp shape.
