September 2023: Blizzard Reported 136,014 WoW Account Actions
Blizzard reported 136,014 exploitative WoW account actions for September 2023. Kaivax published the official monthly report on October 2, 2023. The reporting month and publication date are different: this is a historical September total, not a current enforcement announcement.
June Through September: The Reported Monthly Totals
The previous reports provide context for the September figure. Each row describes a reporting month, rather than the day on which every action occurred.
| 2023 period | Reported account actions |
|---|---|
| June | 127,014 |
| July | 116,921 |
| August | 145,566 |
| September | 136,014 |
September's total was 9,552 below August's, calculated from those two reported figures. That difference describes enforcement counts; it does not establish how many exploitative accounts remained active.
What Was Counted—and What Was Excluded
The report covered cheating and exploitation. Blizzard described the principal outcomes as permanent bans or six-month suspensions. Character-name and in-game-language violations were excluded from this total.
The staff post did not provide a Retail/Classic split, regional totals, a count of unique people or appeal outcomes. Its location in the Classic forum therefore does not establish that all 136,014 actions were Classic-only permanent bans.
Monthly action totals also do not measure detection effectiveness or the size of the remaining bot population. They should not be summed and relabelled as a cumulative count of distinct players.
For the next reporting period, see the separate October 2023 account-actions report. Its later total is another monthly observation, not a revision of September's number.
