October 2023: 203,026 Reported WoW Account Actions

Blizzard reported 203,026 exploitative WoW account actions for October 2023. Kaivax published the official report on November 7, 2023. It was a monthly accounting, not a statement that every sanction occurred in a single simultaneous wave.

October was the highest of the June-through-October reports compared here. That is a defined historical comparison, rather than a claim about an all-time enforcement record.

The Reporting Month Is Not the Publication Month

All dates in this table are in 2023. Keeping the two columns separate avoids mistaking a report published in July for a July enforcement total.

September136,014October 2

October exceeded September by 67,012 actions, calculated from the reported totals. The increase does not identify how many additional people cheated, how many bots remained or how the detection rate changed.

What the October Number Covers

The staff report concerns cheating and exploitation. It says those actions primarily resulted in permanent bans or six-month suspensions, excluding character-name and in-game-language violations.

It does not provide a Retail/Classic split or a unique-player count. “Account actions” should not be rewritten as “Classic-only permanent bans,” and adding months together does not establish a cumulative count of distinct accounts or people.

A larger enforcement total can describe more actions without explaining why that total rose. The report supplies neither the total exploitative population nor a comparable detection-success rate, so the number alone cannot prove that cheating became more common or that enforcement became more effective.

The separate September 2023 report preserves the preceding monthly observation. Both remain dated news archives; neither describes the current game's enforcement totals.
