Molten Core Raid Guide
The Molten Core raid, located in the depths of Blackrock Mountain, is scaled down to a 20-player raid in Season of Discovery. This reimagined version features 11 bosses, scalable difficulty levels, and updated loot, including Tier 1 sets and the legendary weapon, Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros.
Attuning to Molten Core
To enter Molten Core, players must complete the Attunement to the Core quest starting at level 55. The quest, available from Lothos Riftwaker at the bottom of Blackrock Mountain, requires players to venture into Blackrock Depths. Completing this attunement allows future access to the raid via Lothos Riftwaker.
Molten Core Loot
Molten Core's loot was significantly reworked for Season of Discovery. Bosses drop Tier Tokens that can be exchanged for set pieces, with several set bonuses per class. The legendary item, Eye of Sulfuras, combined with Sulfuron Hammer, creates the powerful Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros.
Molten Core Difficulty Changes
Players can adjust the difficulty of Molten Core by speaking with Duke Hydraxis in Azshara. Increasing the difficulty to Blistering Heat or Molten Heat challenges players further and increases loot quantity, though not quality.
Onyxia's Lair Raid Guide
The Onyxia's Lair raid, now adjustable for up to 40 players, features updated loot and a new attunement process. This guide covers how to get attuned, the updated gear, and strategies for defeating Onyxia.
Attuning to Onyxia's Lair
To enter Onyxia's Lair, players must have the Drakefire Amulet. Alliance players begin their questline with Dragonkin Menace at Morgan's Vigil in the Burning Steppes, while Horde players start with Warlord's Command at Kargath in the Badlands. Completing these questlines grants the Drakefire Amulet, allowing access to the raid.
Onyxia's Lair Loot
Onyxia's loot was reworked for Season of Discovery. Notably, Tier 2 Helms do not drop from Onyxia. Reworked items include:
- Eskhandar's Collar: Attack Power Neck
- Onyxia Tooth Pendant: Agility Neck
- Dragonslayer's Signet: Intellect Ring
- Onyxia Blood Talisman: Tank Trinket

Scarlet Enclave: the Phase 8 Endgame Raid
The Scarlet Enclave is Season of Discovery's final raid, set in the Scarlet Crusade's bastion in Eastern Plaguelands. It scales for 20 to 40 players across eight bosses, ending on Grand Crusader Caldoran, and it is where the legendary Corrupted Ashbringer is obtained. A Scarlet Enclave boost gets you a full clear or single-boss kills with a team that has the fight order down. For the previous tier, a Naxxramas run covers the Phase 7 raid.
