An attractive power can come on an item whose remaining properties are less useful. Conversely, an item can offer valuable properties even when its distinctive proc is less compelling. Treating the power's grade as the whole item's grade loses that distinction.
Use three questions to turn the commentary into a useful comparison:
- Which skill or interaction is the item supporting? An evaluation for one playstyle does not establish the same value for another.
- What does equipping it remove? Compare the properties and customizable power in the existing slot, rather than assessing the new item in isolation.
- Which version is being discussed? Check the season and patch before carrying a historical interaction into a present-day setup.
The point is to understand the reasoning behind a placement, rather than use a letter as a universal instruction to equip or discard a drop.
