Four Dungeons Shared the Original Leveling S Tier

Champion’s Demise, Deserted Underpass, Mariner’s Refuge and Uldur’s Cave appeared in the January 23, 2024 S-tier leveling image. That selection belonged to the start of Season of the Construct, under Patch 1.3.

The original report by constant at Wowhead announced evaluations for both leveling and Glyph XP. Its preserved screenshot specifically says leveling. All four entries share the same grade; the image does not establish first-to-fourth places or a separate Glyph XP ordering.

Three of the pictured dungeons also appeared in World Tier III’s rotation. Deserted Underpass appeared only in the World Tier IV list. That matters when using an old recommendation for a character that had not yet reached World Tier IV.

The Full Season 3 Nightmare Dungeon Rotation

This is the Nightmare rotation, rather than a claim that every ordinary dungeon in Sanctuary disappeared. It also excludes the separate seasonal Nightmare Vault system. “Collapsed Vault” is the named dungeon in this rotation; its name should not be confused with the Season 3 elemental Vaults.

Leveling, Glyph XP and Boss Materials Asked Different Questions

For leveling, time spent traveling and completing objectives matters alongside monster kills. For Glyph progression, successful completion and its reward matter. A dungeon that suits one goal is not automatically first for the other, and the saved S-tier image cannot supply measured minutes or XP per hour.

Season 3 also made Nightmare Dungeons part of the Distilled Fear preparation loop. The released notes specified:

  • Tier 30 or above: a completion always awarded a Distilled Fear.
  • Each ten tiers after 30: the chance of additional Distilled Fear increased.
  • Tier 90 or above: a completion always awarded three Distilled Fears.

Those guarantees describe the historical completion reward. They do not prove that pushing to tier 90 was the fastest material farm for every character. If a higher tier caused failures or much longer runs, compare the completed rewards over the time actually spent.

Keep Later Changes Separate From the January Selection

Patch 1.3.1 on February 1 adjusted layouts and monster spawns in several dungeons. It also changed Nightmare Sigils to display the monster level for their tier. The publisher’s launch assessment was therefore an early reference, rather than a promise that every later run occurred under identical conditions.

For the separate seasonal option, the Nightmare Vault reference explains Warding, traps and the four elemental Vaults. For this rotation, retain the January 2024 date, World Tier and intended reward when comparing an old character or guide. Later seasons changed both rotations and progression systems.
