Week 405: Genteel Jester Fashion Report
Welcome to another Fashion Report Friday for Final Fantasy 14! This week, our theme is "Genteel Jester," and we're breaking down how to maximize your rewards from the Manderville Gold Saucer's fashion challenge. Here's how to achieve the highest scores with detailed item recommendations for each slot.
1. Achieving the Perfect 100
To achieve the perfect score of 100, consider the following gear for each slot:
- Headgear: The Calfskin Rider's Cap is essential for this slot. It can be crafted through Leatherworker or purchased from the market board.
- Chest: The Best Man's Jacket, accessible to all players including those on the free trial, can be purchased from Rianne at Sunsilk Tapestries for 18,000 gil. Alternatives such as the Tailcoat series and the Loyal Butler's Jacket are available but are often more costly or limited.
- Legs: The Hallowed Ramie Gaskins of Casting, crafted by a Weaver (level 57) or purchased from the Market Board. Other viable alternatives include the Hallowed Ramie Gaskins of Healing and the Shire Philosopher's Hose from level 60 dungeons.
- Boots: Opt for the True Griffin Sandals of Casting, which can be crafted or bought from players. The True Griffin Sandals of Healing or various Demon Sandals and Caligae from the World of Darkness are also excellent choices.
With the 100-score outfit assembled, you can move to a simpler fallback approach using dyes.
2. Scoring 80 with Dyes
For those looking to score 80 with more accessible options, dyes come in handy. Here's a quick checklist:
- Equip any weapon and dye it Ash Gray (available from NPCs for 40 gil).
- Use Metallic Silver on any helm.
- Apply Metallic Orange to any chest piece.
- Dye any gloves and legs with Metallic Sky Blue.
- Choose Soot Black for the feet, purchasable from NPC vendors or through crafting.
Dye combinations alone are enough to push most setups to 80, even without any of the premium items above.
3. Easiest Configuration for 80 Points
Combine any two items from the 100-score recommendations with dyed gear to easily hit 80 points. For instance, pairing the Best Man's Jacket with Hallowed Ramie Gaskins, and then adding:
- Ice Blue Dye on any hands and legs.
- Soot Black Dye on any feet.
This method offers a straightforward path to an 80 score as long as every slot is filled.
