Survival is the name of the game in Classic Hardcore realms, and beginning February 29, 2024, players could take it a step further with Self-Found mode. In this mode you start from level 1 with no access to player mail, the Auction House, or trading of any kind — items, enchantments, and currency included. Everything you need to survive in Azeroth, you gather, craft, or earn yourself.
The restrictions apply strictly: no sending or receiving mail from other players, no buying or selling on the Auction House, and no item trades. Characters flagged for Self-Found wear a special marker visible to other players.

The February Trading Post closed at the end of the month. Players had a chance to collect the Love Witch's Attire transmogrification set and the extra Trader's Tender from that month's activities.

February 23 marked the Hatching of the Hippogryphs micro-holiday. Players headed to Frayfeather Highlands in Feralas to watch the Frayfeather hippogryphs hatch firsthand.
Players could follow the official World of Warcraft news site for hotfix notes, blue post responses, and scheduling updates throughout the week.
Classic Hardcore Self-Found launched on February 29, 2024. Players wanting to try the self-sufficient playstyle could enable Self-Found on any new Hardcore character — once started, no outside help is permitted. Mists of Pandaria Timewalking ended February 27, and the Dragonflight Mythic Dungeon International Group B stage ran February 23–25 for those following the competitive scene.
