Blood Onyx Uniform: Matching Armor Pairings
The Blood Onyx Uniform appeared on the WoW Trading Post in September 2023 as part of the Rogue cosmetic bundle for that month. Two classic Rogue tier sets made particularly strong visual matches for it.
The Heroic recolor of Battlegear of the Thousandfold Blades (the Tier 14 Rogue set from the Heart of Fear) complemented the Blood Onyx Uniform's bronze-and-black palette well. The Heroic variant's added flame details echoed the gemstone highlights already present on the Blood Onyx pieces, creating a coherent dark aesthetic across the full character.
The Slayer's Armor (Tier 6, Black Temple) was a second solid match. Its sleek silhouette and dark detailing updated naturally alongside the Blood Onyx pieces without the two sets competing visually.
Blood Onyx Blades: Weapon Pairings
The Blood Onyx weapon set shipped with three appearances: the Blood Onyx Shortblade, Blood Onyx Impaler, and Blood Onyx Serrated Edge.
The Shortblade and Impaler aligned well with the Fanged Slayer's Armor, the Mythic recolor of the Tomb of Sargeras Rogue tier set. The clean dark frames of both weapon appearances matched the set's sharp geometry without introducing color conflicts.
The Serrated Edge fit into the Obsidian Gladiator's Leather Set from Dragonflight PvP Season 2. The weapon's straight-edged silhouette matched the set's angular leather plates, and both shared the high-contrast dark coloring that defines the Blood Onyx line.
Finding Blood Onyx Items Now
The Blood Onyx set was available for purchase from the Trading Post during September 2023. Players who completed enough Trading Post activities that month could claim the pieces directly. Items that were claimed are kept permanently in the wardrobe; items that were not claimed during the active month may have become available in later Trader's Tenders rotations or holiday restocks.
For transmog collectors picking up the set retroactively, the above tier pairings still apply; the classic sets from Heart of Fear, Black Temple, and Tomb of Sargeras remain farmable through legacy content.
