Build Around Three Armor Pieces, Not a Full Set
The Blood Onyx Uniform supplies head, shoulder and waist appearances. It does not include a matching chest, gloves, legs or boots. The separate Blood Onyx Blades bundle supplies three weapon appearances. Start with the bundle you own, then fill the remaining slots from your collection.
These Trading Post sets debuted in September 2023 and returned in November 2024. That is documented availability history, not a claim that either is in the current month’s shop. Check the live Trading Post before planning a purchase.
What Each Bundle Contains
Blizzard’s original class-set announcement identifies the three-piece armor and weapon bundles. Its November 2024 catalog confirms their return and prices.
| Bundle | Included appearances | Documented 2023/2024 price |
|---|---|---|
| Blood Onyx Uniform | Blood Onyx Cowl, Pauldrons and Buckle | 450 Trader’s Tender |
| Blood Onyx Blades | Shortblade: one-hand sword; Serrated Edge and Impaler: daggers | 500 Trader’s Tender |
They were Tender purchases, not the automatic reward for filling the month’s Traveler’s Log. Earning Tender through activities and spending it on a bundle are separate steps. A possible future return would have its own stock and price to check.

The official preview isolates the cowl, shoulders and belt against a plain outfit. Use those three pieces as the visual anchor; the unadorned body is not an additional set of purchasable Blood Onyx clothes.
Choose an Outfit Direction Before Farming
DiscordianKitty’s original 2023 styling showcase demonstrated the following combinations. Treat them as appearance suggestions rather than stat upgrades or complete shopping lists.
| Look to preview | Why it is a useful starting point | Acquisition detail to check |
|---|---|---|
| Heroic Battlegear of the Thousandfold Blades | Warm bronze and dark materials pair with the uniform’s red gemstone accents. | Select the Heroic recolor in Collections; another difficulty can have a different palette. |
| Slayer’s Armor | A classic Rogue silhouette gives the newer cowl and shoulders a simpler supporting outfit. | Inspect the exact missing slot and its source rather than assuming one raid drops every piece. |
| Mythic Fanged Slayer’s Armor | A sharper silhouette provides another direction for the Shortblade or Impaler. | The showcase used Mythic; a similarly named Normal appearance is not the same look. |
| Elite Obsidian Gladiator’s leather appearance | The Serrated Edge was shown as a darker weapon pairing. | This was a specific Dragonflight Season 2 Elite recolor, not a generic current Honor-vendor set. |
The Elite suggestion is most useful if you already own that appearance. This guide does not establish a current way to acquire that historical PvP recolor. For an accessible alternative, keep the Blood Onyx pieces selected and preview chest, hand, leg and foot appearances you have already unlocked.
Make the Mix Work on Your Character
Preview the outfit on your own race and body type. Check how the shoulder width sits over the chest, whether the belt hides important detail and whether gloves and boots repeat the same metallic or dark accents. Inspect the weapons together; a sword appearance and dagger appearance are different item types, even when sold in one bundle.
If the silhouette feels crowded, hide or simplify one competing slot before adding more effects. The Blood Onyx shoulders and cowl already create a strong focal point. Save the preview as an outfit once you like the combination, then use each missing appearance’s source information to plan targeted collection runs.
Class Rules Changed After the Original Release
The 2023 announcement described Rogue-only use. Blizzard’s November 2024 return explicitly lifted those class restrictions while retaining the requirement that a character can use the relevant armor or weapon type. Blood Onyx’s leather theme does not make the accompanying Rogue raid tier appearances universally usable.
Preview every component on the character that will wear it. The Trading Post bundle’s rules and a separately acquired class-tier item’s rules are not interchangeable.
