Watch The Tide Turns

Story spoilers for Dragonflight Patch 10.2. The Tide Turns is the confrontation between Fyrakk and Alexstrasza midway through Chapter 5 of the Guardians of the Dream campaign. This page covers the cutscene reported on November 7, 2023.

Watch Wowhead’s The Tide Turns cutscene on YouTube. The video runs approximately two minutes. The cover shows Alexstrasza from that capture.

Why the Original Capture Has a Blue Placeholder

Squishei’s original report and dialogue transcript identify the datamined blue box as Fyrakk’s dragon form. It represents a character model in that extraction, rather than an additional character or a story event.

A placeholder in an early extraction is a limitation of that capture. Use it to follow the scene’s dialogue and staging, rather than as a reference for the finished dragon model.

The Exchange Between Fyrakk and Alexstrasza

Fyrakk threatens the injured Dragon Queen. Alexstrasza challenges his pursuit of power and refuses to surrender Amirdrassil. His claim that she will die alone is answered by the arrival of support and her insistence that Azeroth stands together.

Her reply, “I am not alone!”, is the scene’s turning point. The dialogue moves from Fyrakk threatening one opponent to facing the defenders as a united force. Alexstrasza’s final order is to stop him escaping; this confrontation does not depict the raid’s final victory over him.

What to Notice When Watching

The scene contrasts Fyrakk’s confidence in his own power with Alexstrasza’s reliance on allies. Her reference to his former ideal criticizes his changed priorities; the immediate conflict is over the defense of Amirdrassil.

For a spoiler-conscious viewing order, watch the scene before reading the transcript. The transcript is useful for following the spoken exchange, while the video preserves the timing and visual reveal of the response to Fyrakk.
