Midnight Early Access Highlights & Azeroth Interiors Finale

Midnight Early Access Highlights & Azeroth Interiors Finale

WoW Midnight early access launched Feb 26 with Twitch drops, Azeroth Interior Show, and last-chance seasonal rewards before the March 2nd general release.

Pre-Launch Events in Warcraft

In the days leading up to Midnight's launch, several seasonal events offered last-minute rewards before the expansion opened. Here's a recap of what was active in the final week of The War Within.

Concluding Events

  • Love is in the Air: This event was wrapping up, giving players a final window to complete armor and weapon appearance collections.
  • Winds of Mysterious Fortune: An event that concluded shortly before launch, offering last-minute chances at unique rewards.
  • Lunar Festival: Continued through the final week, providing transmog appearances and currency for collections. Alts could run the event for bonus currency.
  • War Within Dungeon Event: Offered rare transmog drops for players finishing collection runs in the final week.
  1. Outland Cup: Ran the week before early access, sending players through classic Outland zones. Riders of Azeroth badges remained spendable into Midnight.

With those seasonal activities concluded, attention turned to the Azeroth Interior Show and Midnight's arrival on February 26th.

Azeroth Interior Show and Housing

The Azeroth Interior Show ran on Tuesday, February 25th at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. Teams brought their housing builds to life, judged by Blizzard staff and a guest celebrity designer. Players could visit builds but not co-build during the event.

Housing visit signups were temporarily paused during early access to let players collect new Midnight decor and unlock new housing levels first. Player housing entered a new Midnight season with an expanded set of craftable items and zone-specific decor.

Midnight Early Access Launch

February 26th marked the start of early access for Midnight. Players who logged in during this window received the following:

  1. Alliance and Horde Themed Murloc Plushy: Watching WoW streams on Twitch for four hours claimed this exclusive item.
  2. Streamer Supporter Program: Gifting two subs to a Warcraft streamer unlocked the fishmonger pet.
  3. Early Access Content: Players could explore zone content and the level-up campaign, though some races and dungeons stayed locked until March 2nd.

What was available during early access:

    • Full access to leveling and zone content.
    • Unlocked quest lines, including the Haranir allied race introduction quests.
    • Professions and select dungeons on standard difficulty.

Several content types remained locked until the official general release on March 2nd.

Early Access Limitations

Early access offered zones and leveling, but outdoor world events and weekly currencies were not active until the full launch on March 2nd. Heroic dungeons, delves at full difficulty, and profession questlines unlocked on the first weekly reset post-launch. Season 1 with full raid and Mythic Plus access started March 17th (NA) / March 18th (EU).
