The witch doctor pieces are shields and a cape, not helmets
The biggest error in the old coverage was filing the Royal Witch Doctor items under a "Helmets" heading. They were never helmets. The Witch Doctor's Fetish Guard and the Royal Witch Doctor's Guard are both cosmetic off-hand shields built on the same fetish-and-bone model, with the Royal version as a recolor. The game files held roughly three tints of that shield.
The Royal Witch Doctor's Trophies is the matching back-slot cape, hung with fetishes and trophies rather than any kind of achievement emblem. There is a companion cape in the same family, the Witch Doctor's Fetish Frame, which rounded out the look. None of these are speculative "may exist" items, which is how the old blog hedged them. They were all sitting in the database with item IDs the moment they were datamined.
The two real helms: Wildhammer Scout and Errant Crusader
The actual helmets in this batch were the other two themes. The witch-doctor pieces took a stranger path. The plain Witch Doctor's Fetish Guard shield (400 Tender) and its matching Fetish Frame cape (500 Tender) rotated through the Trading Post during 2024. The Royal variants, however, never appeared there at all. Ms. Xiulan stocked the Royal Witch Doctor's Guard and the Royal Witch Doctor's Trophies at the Black Market beneath Valdrakken for 80,000 gold apiece, available from January through August 2024. If you wanted the fancy recolor, you paid gold, not Tender.
How the Trading Post worked
For context, the Trading Post itself launched with Patch 10.0.5, and its unlock quest auto-pushed to players on February 1, 2023. Its stock rotates on the first of every month, and you spend Trader's Tender rather than gold.
