Three Milestones Separate the Cutscenes from the Raid
Dragonflight story spoilers. The Patch 10.1.7 campaign reveals Fyrakk’s plan for the World Tree and Vyranoth’s warning to Alexstrasza. The Emerald Dream zone and the Amirdrassil raid arrive in the following update, with different opening dates.
That distinction matters when catching up through old articles. A patch launch, the beginning of a new season and the release of a raid are separate milestones.
The 2023 Release Sequence
Blizzard’s Fury Incarnate overview and Guardians of the Dream update notes establish the sequence. Dates refer to the North American release schedule; regional maintenance affected local availability.

Later Raid Finder wings followed their own schedule. For the broader historical calendar, use the Patch 10.2 release schedule; neither its maintenance estimates nor its reward levels describe the current game.
What the Lunedane Investigation Establishes
Shandris investigates the Incarnates’ plans at Lunedane in the Ohn’ahran Plains. Fyrakk’s cooperation with the Druids of the Flame gives his assault an ally and a means of reaching the Dream. The threat concerns corrupting the World Tree and claiming its power, rather than a simple attack on an outdoor quest hub.
The Keeper’s corruption supplies a smaller example of that threat. It belongs to the campaign scene; a character appearing in a quest encounter does not mean their later raid encounter has already opened.
What Changes When Vyranoth Reaches Valdrakken
Vyranoth brings the warning to Alexstrasza, and the conversation creates an opening for her to stand with the dragonflights. The scene is a narrative change in allegiance, not an instruction to queue for a new boss fight immediately afterward.

Follow the Campaign Before Skipping to Raid Footage
The official 10.2 notes identify campaign chapters including Enter the Dream, Druids of the Flame and The Claws of Vyranoth. Those chapters develop the setup from Fury Incarnate, while the raid belongs later in the release sequence.
For a story-first catch-up, follow the Lunedane investigation, the Valdrakken warning and then Guardians of the Dream’s campaign before the raid scenes. That preserves the cause and consequence without treating every related cinematic as if it occurred during the same quest.
