Revised Patch 10.2 PTR Development Updates: Mythic+ Key Season Transition and Sporecloak Adjustments

Blizzard has provided an update on the Patch 10.2 PTR development notes, explaining how Mythic+ keystones will decay and reducing the power of the Undulating Sporecloak item. Keystones will drop 11 levels at the start of Season 3, and the Undulating Sporecloak's shield and healing abilities have been adjusted to balance gameplay.

Blizzard has recently provided an update for the Patch 10.2 PTR development notes, detailing changes to Mythic+ keystones and the Undulating Sporecloak item in the upcoming season rollover. As the Guardians of the Dream PTR continues to evolve, let's take a closer look at these latest updates.

Dragonflight Season 3

With the start of Season 3 on November 14, keystones will experience an additional 11-level drop alongside the usual weekly reduction. This adjustment aims to maintain a challenging experience for players. Let's explore a couple of examples to better understand how this will work:

  • Example 1:

You completed a +15 dungeon during the week of November 7-14, but unfortunately, you didn't manage to time it. Normally, the keystone you receive from this run would drop by 1 level since it wasn't timed (15 > 14). However, due to the season rollover decay, it will drop an additional 11 levels, resulting in a level 3 keystone (14 > 3).

  • Example 2:

You successfully timed a +15 dungeon during the week of November 7-14. The resulting keystone would normally be level 15 since you timed a +15 last week. However, with the season rollover decay, it will drop an additional 11 levels, leaving you with a level 4 keystone (15 > 4).

Dungeons and Raids

  • Mythic+ Affixes

One notable change in this PTR update is the treatment of Pools of Sanguine Ichor in Mythic+ dungeons. Previously, these pools were separate entities, but now they are considered connected. As a result, moving between connected pools will no longer apply an additional application of Sanguine Ichor, making these encounters more manageable for players.

Items

  • Professions

The Undulating Sporecloak, a coveted crafted shield in Guardians of the Dream, has undergone some adjustments. In this update, its healing and shield values have been reduced by 79% (previously 50%), Versatility is reduced by 75% while above 70% health, and the healing over time effect has been reduced by 80%. These changes have been implemented to balance the cloak's oscillating fantasy, aiming to make it less effective at protecting players who commit fatal mistakes, while still providing defensive bonuses and rewarding safe gameplay with a Versatility bonus when above 70% health. These adjustments help maintain the cloak as a viable choice for players seeking defensiveness, while ensuring its throughput value is in line with other embellishments offered by Professions.

As the Patch 10.2 PTR continues to progress, be sure to keep an eye out for further updates and changes. Stay tuned for more information on the Guardians of the Dream!
