Evoker, Hunter, Mage, and Shaman Recolors on the Patch 10.2 Trading Post
The Patch 10.2 PTR for Dragonflight revealed new recolors for class sets available at the Trading Post. Evoker, Hunter, Mage, and Shaman each received distinctive color variants, giving transmog-focused players more options to differentiate their characters' looks. Blizzard had previewed some Trading Post tints earlier in the expansion cycle, but these were additional choices beyond that initial reveal.
The standout among the new variants was a Kael'thas-themed red recolor of the Mage shoulders β a striking callback to the Burning Crusade-era villain that stood apart from the neutral palette of most class sets. For Mage players with a taste for Blood Elven aesthetics, the recolor was one of the more memorable cosmetics to pass through the 10.2 Trading Post.
At the time of the PTR, it remained unclear whether further tints for these four class sets would be introduced later in the Dragonflight cycle. Other classes had not been confirmed for additional recolors at that stage of the expansion.
Transmogrification in Dragonflight
Transmogrification had been central to the WoW experience long before Dragonflight, letting players decouple a character's appearance from their current gear. The Trading Post expanded on that system by offering a rotating selection of cosmetics earnable with Trader's Tender, the monthly currency players accumulated through seasonal activities. Class set recolors sat alongside mounts, pets, and other cosmetics in the monthly rotation, making each month's catalogue a reason for transmog collectors to check in.
The Patch 10.2 additions for Evoker, Hunter, Mage, and Shaman represented a continuation of that approach: distinctive palettes tied to class fantasy, made available through the seasonal Trading Post rather than through raids or crafting.
