The Arsenal: Stormrider's Stormhammers

The Arsenal: Stormrider's Stormhammers is a weapon transmog collection added to the game files in Patch 10.2.0 (November 7, 2023). Dataminers found the models in PTR data ahead of BlizzCon 2023 (November 3–4), where the hammers sparked speculation about their role in the upcoming War Within storyline. After BlizzCon, full model details became visible to the community. The Arsenal became available through the Trading Post for 400 Trader's Tender in December 2023 and returned again in August and November 2024. Despite matching the visual theme of the War Within preorder transmog set, the Stormhammers are a separate Trading Post reward — they were not bundled with any preorder edition.

Regal and Thundering Variants

The Arsenal contains two hammer appearances. The Regal Stormhammer (item 211255) shares the color palette of the base Stormrider's Attire transmog armor set that came with heroic and epic War Within preorders — the midnight blue and gold scheme that defined the preorder aesthetic. The Thundering Stormhammer (item 211256) adds electrified lightning effects and a glowing energy core, visually complementing the Thundering Stormrider's Attire armor upgrade. Both are one-handed mace transmog appearances and can be applied to any eligible weapon type.

Stormrider Weapons and Armor: Two Separate Reward Tracks

The Stormrider cosmetic ecosystem split across two distinct sources, which datamining coverage at the time sometimes conflated. The Stormrider's Attire armor set and its recolor upgrades came with heroic and epic War Within preorders, with armor variants tied to the The Storm Race Tour — a series of seven dragon-flying races across the Dragon Isles on the Algarian Stormrider mount. Completing those races rewarded the Ensemble: Thundering Stormrider's Attire armor set. The Stormrider's Stormhammers weapons, however, were only available through the Trading Post independently of any preorder status or race completion. Players who owned the preorder mount and armor but missed the December 2023 Trading Post window had to wait for subsequent rotations to acquire the matching weapons.

The Algarian Stormrider mount became available for direct purchase on the Battle.net Shop in December 2025 for players who missed the original preorder window.
