Dragonflight Patch 10.2 opened the Emerald Dream as a new outdoor zone. Players made repeated visits for dailies, rares, and renown, which made the location of the primary travel portal matter. The original entrance sat in the Ohn'ahran Plains near the Ancient Bough, but Valdrakken offered a faster shortcut for anyone who had progressed through the opening campaign quests.
The Valdrakken Shortcut and Account-Wide Unlock
The Valdrakken portal to the Emerald Dream was located in the city's Emerald Enclave. Completing the Emerald Welcome quest (one of the first quests in the 10.2 campaign) unlocked the shortcut for every character on the account. Alts didn't need to run the campaign separately; the account-wide flag applied immediately after a single character finished the quest.
