Morgan Day’s Answer About Patch 10.3
Dragonflight did not receive a Patch 10.3. Its remaining story continued through later updates in the 10.2 cycle. At BlizzCon 2023, Warcraft Wiki’s notes from the Friday group Q&A recorded Morgan Day saying that more story would come between 10.2 and The War Within.
The notes were published by Warcraft Wiki contributor Kaydeethree, from the November 3, 2023 session. They capture an early plan: Guardians of the Dream had not yet launched, and the later updates did not all have announced dates.
What Followed Guardians of the Dream
Blizzard’s release notices show how that period unfolded. The dates here follow its North American announcements:
| Update | North American release | What it added to this period |
|---|---|---|
| 10.2 — Guardians of the Dream | November 7, 2023; raid opening followed in the week of November 14 | Emerald Dream campaign and Amirdrassil, the Dream’s Hope. |
| 10.2.5 — Seeds of Renewal | January 16, 2024 | Dragonflight epilogues, Bel’ameth and the reclamation of Gilneas, alongside other features. |
| Dragonflight Season 4 | April 23, 2024 | Awakened versions of the three existing Dragonflight raids, a new Mythic+ rotation and a new PvP season. |
| 10.2.7 — Dark Heart | May 7, 2024 | The Harbinger story with Khadgar and Alleria, setting up The War Within. |
The 10.2 release notes distinguish the patch week from Amirdrassil’s opening week. Seeds of Renewal’s January date was confirmed in Blizzard’s January 2 update; the later Season 4 notes and Dark Heart launch notice document the April and May releases.
Seeds of Renewal: The Dragon Isles Epilogues

Seeds of Renewal’s content notes describe a quest chain in which players join the Aspects as they reflect on Dragonflight, visit the new night elf settlement of Bel’ameth, and listen to characters around Valdrakken.
That gives the update a clear role in the story: time to see the Dragon Isles after the main confrontation. The separate reclamation of Gilneas also continued an older kingdom’s storyline. Players revisiting this period can look for those named quest chapters and locations when following the epilogue.
Season 4 Revisited Dragonflight’s Raids
The interview notes also include a question about a Shadowlands-style fourth season. The response recorded at BlizzCon was that there was nothing to announce then. Season 4 was confirmed later.
Its Awakened rotation used Vault of the Incarnates, Aberrus and Amirdrassil, with stronger enemies and upgraded loot. A new competitive season and a newly built raid are different additions; the season’s existence does not imply that a 10.3 raid was released.
Dark Heart: The Lead-In to The War Within
Blizzard presented Dark Heart as Dragonflight’s final chapter. Khadgar called players to Dalaran to investigate the Harbinger and the Dark Heart relic, with Alleria Windrunner joining the investigation.
For the narrative sequence, follow the Emerald Dream campaign and its raid conclusion, the Seeds of Renewal epilogues, then the Dark Heart prologue. This moves from the Dragon Isles’ aftermath toward Xal’atath and The War Within. The patch names identify where those chapters belong even though the numbering stayed within 10.2.
