Endeavor Boosts: Key Changes Gamers Requested - Midnight Feedback

Housing Endeavors update for WoW Midnight: XP cap now 2,250, diminishing returns floor 50%, and generic task rewards raised to 50 XP.

Housing Endeavors Update and Player Feedback

Midnight's player housing feature launched alongside a monthly Endeavors system that ties house XP gains to community activity. One week after launch, Blizzard announced several meaningful adjustments in direct response to community feedback, covering XP caps, diminishing returns, and task rewards.

Adjustments to House XP Caps

A primary concern was the cap on house XP per endeavor, originally set at 1,000 XP. This cap was intended to maintain the value of collecting decor for XP but was deemed too restrictive. In response, the cap has been raised to 2,250 XP, allowing players to accumulate a total of 2,500 XP per endeavor, including the 250 XP for completion. This gives players the opportunity to advance one to two house levels from the monthly endeavor alone. The update is not retroactive but applies to the current endeavor cycle going forward.

Changes to Diminishing Returns

Feedback also highlighted issues with diminishing returns on task rewards. To support diverse player task preferences, the floor on diminishing returns has been raised from 20% to 50%. This change applies to rewards such as house XP and community coupons, meaning the minimum payout after repeat task completions increases significantly. For example:

  • Before Update: From earning 10 coupons down to earning just 2 coupons after full decay
  • After Update: Minimum of 5 coupons regardless of repeat completions

A weekly reset for diminishing returns on repeatable Endeavors tasks also goes live next week, giving players a fresh start on reward rates each reset. Players may need to log out and back in to see updated values reflected in the UI.

Neighborhood Activity and Task Rewards

For the first month's endeavors, difficulty scaled with neighborhood activity but lacked proper calibration. Developers reduced the XP required for completion to 400 XP, easing progress for smaller or less active neighborhoods.

Rewards for generic tasks are also being improved, rising from 10 to 50 XP. These tasks cover basic activities like key collection or raid boss defeats, making casual engagement with the Endeavors system more rewarding.

Adjustment Type Previous Value Updated Value
House XP Cap 1,000 XP 2,250 XP
Diminishing Returns Floor 20% 50%
Generic Task XP Reward 10 XP 50 XP
XP Requirement for First Endeavor Unspecified 400 XP

With these changes in place, active decorators can expect noticeably faster house level progression starting this cycle.

Upcoming Enhancements

The Endeavors UI currently does not display XP cap or diminishing returns details, but Blizzard has indicated these will be addressed in a future update. Players are also reminded that teaming up with three neighbors grants a 20% bonus to all Endeavors rewards, making coordinated participation worth organising.

These adjustments reflect Blizzard's responsiveness to Housing Endeavors feedback in the first weeks of Midnight. The XP cap increase is the most meaningful change for dedicated decorators; the diminishing returns floor raise and weekly reset make casual play consistently worthwhile.
