How many factions are in Marathon?
Six factions: CyberAcme, NuCaloric, Traxus, MIDA, Arachne, and Sekiguchi Genetics. Each has its own contract board, reputation track, and Armory rewards, and raising a faction's standing unlocks better gear and lifts your base stats.
When did Marathon launch?
March 5, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Bungie's PvPvE extraction shooter blends first-person combat with proxy-war faction storylines on Tau Ceti IV.
Does Marathon reset progress each season?
Yes. Each new season triggers a full community-wide reset of gear, contracts, faction progress, and player level. Cosmetics, achievements, and Codex progress carry over. Season 2 begins June 2, 2026 and brings the game's first full wipe.
