Mage Tower Coaching
The Mage Tower is a solo challenge where your item level is scaled down, so gear can't carry you — only your play does. Mage Tower Coaching pairs you with a mentor who has cleared these encounters on your class and walks you through the pull, live, while you play your own character. This is a self-play coaching service: no one logs into your account, and you keep every appearance you earn because you earned it yourself.
What Mage Tower Coaching Includes
You pick the challenge and specialization you're stuck on and book a live session. Your coach reviews your talent build, covers the boss's mechanics beat by beat, watches your attempts in real time, and corrects positioning, cooldown timing, and rotation until the tower falls. Coaching is available for all 7 Mage Tower challenges across every class specialization.
Mage Tower Challenges and Eligible Specializations
Each of the 7 challenges is tuned to a specific set of specs and ends with a unique boss. The table lists every challenge, its final boss, and the specializations it can be attempted on — click a challenge to open its Wowhead database entry.

Rewards You Earn From the Mage Tower
Every challenge you clear grants a class- and spec-specific weapon or armor appearance, plus the A Towering Success achievement. Clearing a challenge on a spec unlocks that appearance permanently on your account. Completing all 7 challenges awards the meta-achievement A Tour of Towers and the Mage-Bound Spelltome, which teaches the coveted Soaring Spelltome mount.
- Unique challenge appearance — a spec-specific weapon or armor look for each tower you conquer.
- A Towering Success — awarded the first time you defeat any Mage Tower challenge.
- A Tour of Towers + Mage-Bound Spelltome — complete all 7 challenges to earn the meta-achievement and the Soaring Spelltome mount.
How Mage Tower Coaching Works
- Pick your class specialization and the number of coaching hours, then check out.
- A coach who mains your spec contacts you to schedule the session around your availability.
- You share your screen and play your own character while the coach guides mechanics, talents, and cooldowns live.
- You clear the challenge yourself and keep the appearance, achievement, and any progress toward the Mage-Bound Spelltome.
