Dragonflight Season 3 Mythic+ PTR Testing
From Thursday, 14 September through Monday, 18 September 2023, Blizzard ran a weekend Mythic+ testing window on the 10.2 PTR. The schedule was subject to adjustment if technical issues arose, so players were advised to watch for Blizzard announcements throughout the window.
The Dungeon Pool
Six Season 3 dungeons were available during the testing weekend:
- Galakrond's Fall
- Murozond's Rise
- Waycrest Manor
- Atal'Dazar
- Darkheart Thicket
- Black Rook Hold
Each dungeon offered its own challenge profile, from the haunted corridors of Waycrest Manor to the ancient vaults of Atal'Dazar. Players with different playstyle preferences found varied content across the six.
Waycrest Manor Door Adjustments
The most notable change in this PTR cycle was an adjustment to the door navigation inside Waycrest Manor. The ever-shifting doors were tweaked to alter how groups moved through the instance. Players needed to adapt their routing and rely on coordination to handle the updated layout during the test window.
Acquiring Keystones and Navigating Dungeons
Mythic Keystones were available from the Keystone Vendor in Valdrakken. Players could pick up and customise keys there before heading into any of the six test dungeons. A Dungeon Teleports NPC nearby offered direct transit to each entrance, making it straightforward to switch between dungeons during the testing period.
Feedback and Live Impact
Blizzard used the September 14-18 window to collect player feedback on balance, routing, and encounter feel before Season 3 launched. Community input on Waycrest Manor door flow in particular fed into the final live-server tuning pass.
