Choose the Form You Want Before You Start Farming
Dragonflight’s Emerald Dream added appearances for Bear, Cat, Ground Travel, Flight and Aquatic forms, plus separate Moonkin customization. A Somnowl changes Flight Form; it does not replace Moonkin. The appearance families are shown in Blizzard’s Guardians of the Dream feature.
This index covers that 10.2 collection. The patch arrived in the week of November 7, 2023, and Amirdrassil’s Normal, Heroic and Mythic opening followed in the week of November 14. Unlock routes include quests, vendors, crafting, secrets and drops, so choose a specific appearance before spending a rare-farming session on it.
Acquisition details and coordinates are credited to Night’s Druid Form Customizations guide at Warcraft Secrets, checked October 25, 2026. Coordinates refer to the Emerald Dream unless another zone is named. Use a Druid with access to the relevant content, learn the reward item, then select the appearance at a Barber Shop.
Four Silent Marks Give You a Direct Starting Route
Thaelishar Groveheart sells four base Silent Marks for 500 gold each in the Wildling Garden, around 60.3, 17.0. They cover Evergreen Dreamsaber, Loamy Umbraclaw, Lush Dreamstag and Thriving Dreamtalon.
The purchased item starts an attunement process: channel it on matching creatures until it becomes the learned-form reward. For the exact item pairs and handling a recently attuned target, follow the four Silent Mark unlocks. Other colors have their own acquisition routes.
Bear Forms: Runebear, Umbraclaw and Bristlebruin
Bear collectors have six appearances across three creature families:

If the Ashen fur sample is missing: Night’s route completes the Aviana/Q’onzu chain through Overseer Oversight before returning to The Char. Visibility can depend on quest phasing. Finish that chain and check near the large tree; the sample is a small ground object, so look closely after landing.
Cat Forms: Three Dreamsabers
The green, purple and blue Dreamsabers have separate sources:

For the blue appearance, pick up the Small Box of Vials near a bookcase in the Eye of Ysera, around 54.9, 25.5. Its six letters correspond to Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor, Outland, Northrend, Draenor and the Broken Isles.
Fill each vial at a matching continent’s moonwell, combine them into Coalesced Moonlight, then use it at the Feral Dreamstone around 41.8, 67.0 in the Emerald Dream. Loot and use the resulting Moon-Blessed Claw. Night’s guide provides the individual moonwell waypoints for planning the trip.
Ground Travel: Dreamstags and Dreamtalons
Blizzard’s preview shows the golden stag and purple/blue Dreamtalon among the new Ground Travel looks. Their unlocks are part of a larger eight-appearance set:

Talisa Whisperbloom is around 49.8, 62.2; Sylvia Whisperbloom is around 59.8, 16.9. Check their Seedbloom stock for the Snowy Umbraclaw, Auroral Dreamtalon and Boreal Dreamtalon before relying on random caches. These are separate purchases from Thaelishar’s gold-priced Silent Marks.
Flight: Slumbering, Azure and Blazing Somnowls
The three Somnowls use three distinct reward paths:

For Slumbering Somnowl, use Hibernate on Somnowls and interact with them to gather five Soft Somnowl Feathers. Combine the feathers with one Silken Thread to make a Somnowl Feather Strand, then combine that strand with one rank-3 Runed Writhebark to create the mark. Sorreldown Somnowls are found around 54.6, 77.0.
For Azure Somnowl, follow Q’onzu’s questline for Azure Somnowl. That route starts with Cenarius and ends with The Answers You’ve Earned. The Blazing version instead comes through the Mythic Fyrakk mount reward.
Aquatic: Scale of the Prismatic Whiskerfish
The Dreaming Nae’dra aquatic appearance is learned from Scale of the Prismatic Whiskerfish. Plan an Amirdrassil run that can reach both the Pit of Volcoross and the Wellspring Atrium:
- Catch 10 Awakening Sunfish from the lava in The Scorched Hall, at the Pit of Volcoross.
- Catch 10 Slumbering Moonfish from the water pools in the Wellspring Atrium.
- Return all 20 fish to the acorn-shaped pool in the Wellspring Atrium. Ten stacks of each fish essence grant Attuned Angler for 30 minutes.
- Fish the Prismatic Whiskerfish pool there until you catch Xena, the Whimsical Whiskerfish.
- Use Xena to release it back into the water, receive the scale, then use the scale to learn the form.
Keep the fish collection and release stages separate when planning your route. Reaching the special pool without both sets of fish leaves the attunement unfinished.
Moonkin: Barber Shop Options and the Fire Unlock
Moonkin received component customization for features such as feathers, beaks, horns, eyebrows, decorations and effects. Visit a Barber Shop to explore those combinations.
Feather of the Smoke Red Moon, from Tindral Sageswift in Amirdrassil, unlocks the Fire Moonkin options. It is a different item from the Somnowl flight feathers. For drop-based appearances throughout this collection, plan for repeat attempts without assuming a guaranteed kill count.
