Your First Trading Post Visit
The Trading Post sells mounts, pets, toys and cosmetic appearances for Trader’s Tender. You earn its regular allowance and activity rewards through Retail WoW, then choose what to add to your collection. You do not need to buy every item or complete every listed activity.
The feature opened on February 1, 2023, after the 10.0.5 update. It requires a WoW subscription or game time and is unavailable in WoW Classic titles. Blizzard’s current Trading Post tour explains the introduction and the available capital-city shops.
On a first visit, follow Tour the Trading Post: collect from the nearby cache, meet the staff, read the notice and view the inventory, then turn in the quest. Completing this introduction opens the Traveler’s Log. Simply standing near the shop is not the same as finishing the tour.

Four Cities Have Trading Posts
The regular catalogue is shared, so use the convenient accessible shop. Blizzard’s 2026 location listing includes Silvermoon as well as the older three cities.

Special Outlet vendors are a separate offering. For example, Blizzard brought them to Dornogal and Silvermoon for September 2026’s BlizzCon celebration. A dated Outlet announcement does not mean those extra suppliers and discounts are permanently available beside every normal shop.
Tender, Travel Points and the Monthly Cosmetic Are Different
The standard monthly system provides 500 Tender from the Collector’s Cache plus up to 500 from activities. The launch notes document these two streams. The resulting 1,000 is an ordinary monthly allowance, not a universal ceiling on your currency balance or every possible bonus.
- Trader’s Tender: the currency you spend in the shop. Unspent Tender carries forward.
- Travel Points: progress from the month’s listed activities. These fill the Traveler’s Log bar rather than becoming spendable Tender one for one.
- Monthly completion reward: the collectible shown at the end of that month’s bar. It is earned through the log, separately from purchases with Tender.
There is also a one-time introductory reward. The game’s Tour the Trading Post quest data lists 500 Tender for completing the tour. That is not another monthly grant or a bonus to repeat on every alt.
Check the current bar rather than assuming every month has identical milestones. The official November 2024 anniversary announcement, for example, explicitly extended the bar with 500 extra Tender. That historical exception is not an ongoing bonus for the current month.
Finish the Traveler’s Log With Activities You Already Enjoy
Open the Adventure Guide with the default Shift-J binding and select Traveler’s Log. The guide requires level 10. Pick objectives that overlap with your plans, and read their full conditions before starting: an eligible dungeon, holiday interaction or quest objective may have specific requirements.
Progress is shared across characters. An alt can contribute toward the same monthly goal, but it does not create a second ordinary allowance. Check the log after a session, then collect earned rewards from the Collector’s Cache.
During the final week, selected activities enter Final Surge to help finish the bar. Use the current log to see which activities qualify. There is no dependable universal “fastest task” across every month, character level and available event.
A useful approach is to choose two or three overlapping objectives, play that content, then reassess the remaining bar. This avoids spending an evening on an activity whose tooltip excludes the content you intended to run.
Use the Freeze Before Saving for a Later Month
A single freeze keeps one wanted item available month after month until you purchase it or replace it. It is not limited to one extra month. The freeze preserves access to that item; saving Tender on its own does not preserve an unfrozen item in the catalogue.
Before the rotation ends, verify that the intended item actually appears in your frozen slot. If you replace an older freeze, you release that older item. Choose the collectible you would most regret missing, then leave it there while you save.
Stock changes at the beginning of the month. Do not assume that a mount visible today will still be sold when next month’s allowance arrives. Returning items are part of the system, but a particular return date or price needs an actual announcement.
Preview the Purchase on the Character You Care About
Collection sharing does not guarantee that every character can use every cosmetic. Preview the exact item, read its restrictions and inspect which slots an ensemble or arsenal contains. A bundle may be only a few pieces rather than a complete outfit.
For a concrete example, the Blood Onyx appearance guide separates the three-piece armor bundle from its weapons and explains compatible outfit choices. Its past prices and availability are historical references, not a claim that the set is in today’s stock.
Finally, keep the monthly catalogue separate from the monthly completion reward and any temporary Outlet. Blizzard’s September 2026 catalogue shows all three together, including returning older bonus rewards. Read each offer’s own acquisition method before spending Tender or planning a return visit.
