Find Your WoW Forever Main
Pick the content you care about, set any firm preferences, then answer the playstyle questions. Your result explains the matches and compromises behind your shortlist. You can go back to change an answer or restart with another activity. Answers stay in this page and disappear when you reload.
What Your Result Means
This is a playstyle matching quiz, adapted from the Find your Main in WoW Forever — v2 worksheet supplied for this article. Its green, yellow and gray rules compare what you enjoy with 29 class-and-role profiles. Feral Bear and Cat, and Enhancement damage and situational tanking, are separate worksheet profiles; they are not extra talent trees.
Role, range and damage style are firm filters. The remaining answers are preferences. A green rule is a fit, yellow means a narrower fit, and gray flags a conflict. We rank the surviving profiles by fewest conflicts, then fewest narrow fits, then most positive fits. Equal records share a rank; their display order is alphabetical. The three cards show different classes so your alternatives are useful, with the best-scoring profile from each class. You can expand the full profile results to compare other builds of the same class.
“Either works” answers add no score. Unrated cells add no evidence either; the quiz does not guess what the worksheet author meant. A result with no scored preferences is an open shortlist, not a winner. If your firm filters leave nothing, change a filter; the quiz will not silently replace your choices. A result with conflicts is a closest fit with compromises, not a perfect match.
The questions branch by activity. Battleground choices include objectives, dungeons ask about group contribution, and leveling considers recovery time and off-roles. Raiding combines the worksheet’s PUG and guild paths because their scored questions are the same. World PvP uses its skirmish questions instead of the unscored ganking jokes. Roleplay, personal character history, speculative speedrun rankings and unfinished questions are left for your own judgment. The original spreadsheet remains available if you prefer its manual elimination process.
Before You Commit to the Character
This is not a damage tier list, raid-slot guarantee or measured leveling benchmark. The worksheet’s ratings are subjective. A class can suit your tastes while a particular group needs something else. Treat a narrow fit or conflict as a question to investigate in its class guide, especially for talent-dependent control, healing or mobility.
Forever also changes familiar Classic assumptions. Blizzard’s Mage and Shaman deep dive describes Shaman tank tools as useful for temporary or small-group situations. The quiz labels that profile accordingly and excludes it when you choose raid tanking. Picking an off-role preference does not mean you can perform two roles simultaneously or without the right talents and equipment.
Future Hardcore is a planning path: Blizzard’s roadmap places it after the November 4 launch. Safety-tool matches do not make a character death-proof. We also omit the worksheet’s free level-40 mount question because Forever’s riding costs should not be reduced to that old Classic comparison.
After the result, read your class’s current mechanics, check the race and class combinations, and compare it with the role you will actually play. If you are choosing for friends or a guild, ask which jobs they need covered. Use the 1–60 leveling route guide once you have a main in mind.

Use your result’s class name to open the relevant guide. Each guide explains the Forever mechanics you should check before committing; the class comparison puts all nine options side by side.
