Explaining the Gauntlet and Leaderboards in Diablo 4 Season 3

November 06, 2023 3 minutes

Hello, dear readers! Today we have some exciting news to share about the upcoming endgame mode and leaderboards in Diablo 4. In this blog post, we will discuss The Gauntlet, Leaderboards, and the Hall of the Ancients, which were showcased during BlizzCon 2023's Diablo 4 Campfire Chat.

The Gauntlet

  • Basics

The Gauntlet is a thrilling feature that will become available in Diablo 4 once you reach World Tier 4. The best part is that you don't have to be Level 100 to access it. This fixed seed, non-linear dungeon presents players with a unique challenge. The layout, positions of monsters, and their affixes remain constant, ensuring that each playthrough offers a consistent experience.

When exploring The Gauntlet, your skills and mastery will be put to the test as you strive to achieve the highest scores. These scores will be displayed on the leaderboards, giving you a chance to showcase your achievements to the Diablo 4 community.

One convenient aspect of The Gauntlet is that loot drops at the end of the timer. This means that you can focus solely on your gameplay without worrying about picking up loot along the way, allowing for a more streamlined experience.

Additionally, every week a new Gauntlet will replace the current one, and the leaderboards will reset. This regular rotation ensures that there is always a fresh challenge waiting for you.

  • Scoring and Rewards

Since The Gauntlet is non-linear, players have the freedom to choose how they progress through the dungeon. This opens up various strategies for maximizing your score, especially if you are playing with a group. Collaborating with your team to make strategic decisions about where to go can lead to even higher scores.

In The Gauntlet, monsters and chests will drop Proof of Might pick-ups instead of traditional loot. Your objective is to collect as many Proofs of Might as possible within a limited amount of time in order to maximize your score. It's all about speed and efficiency!

Based on your score, you will be awarded a Seal. Reaching the prestigious Seal of the Worthy places you in the top 1000 of the corresponding leaderboard. Plus, each Seal comes with a unique portrait frame that you can proudly display in-game.

Exciting, right? But that's not all – let's move on to the leaderboards.

Leaderboards

The leaderboards in Diablo 4 are an excellent way to showcase your skills and compare yourself to other players. Updated on a weekly basis, these leaderboards will feature the top 1000 players in each ladder.

Here are the different brackets you can compete in:

  • Solo Barbarian;
  • Solo Druid;
  • Solo Necromancer;
  • Solo Rogue;
  • Solo Sorcerer;
  • 2 Player Party;
  • 3 Player Party;
  • 4 Player Party.

Leaderboards are further divided into Hardcore and Non-Hardcore categories, ensuring fair competition for players with different preferences and playstyles. And if that's not enough, you'll also find additional filters to make it even easier to find and compare with specific players. These filters include platform, region, clan, and friends.

With the aid of visualizations, the development team has provided a sneak peek at how the leaderboards will look. Take a look at the work-in-progress leaderboard visualization below:

Hall of the Ancients

The Hall of the Ancients is a permanent leaderboard that immortalizes the top 10 players from each week in every Season. This prestigious list ensures that the achievements of these players are recognized throughout Diablo 4's history. Can you make it into the Hall of the Ancients?

Now that you know all the exciting details about The Gauntlet, Leaderboards, and the Hall of the Ancients, we'd love to hear your thoughts. Are you eagerly looking forward to these features? Let us know in the comments below! The Diablo 4 team has put a lot of effort into creating engaging endgame content, and we can't wait to see how players tackle The Gauntlet and dominate the leaderboards.

Thank you for reading, and until next time, stay strong, heroes!
