A New Chance at the X-45 Heartbreaker - Love is in the Air Begins Tomorrow

February 05, 2024 2 minutes

Love is in the Air is almost here, and with it comes another opportunity to try and obtain the X-45 Heartbreaker mount. This highly sought-after mount has notoriously low drop rates, leading players to tirelessly farm it by cycling through multiple characters every day. However, starting from 2023, there is a glimmer of hope for those who have been in search of this elusive mount. The first attempt of the day on your Battle.net account now has a significantly higher chance of dropping the X-45 Heartbreaker mount, making it easier than ever to add this beauty to your collection.

Event Details

The Love is in the Air event will run from February 5th at 10 am region time until February 19th at 10 am region time. During this two-week period, players will have the chance to participate in various activities and quests to celebrate the season of love.

Improved Drop Rates

Blizzard Entertainment has taken player feedback into account and has made changes to the drop rates of the X-45 Heartbreaker mount. Starting from the 2023 Love is in the Air event, the first Heart-Shaped Box you receive each day across your Battle.net account will have a significantly increased chance of containing the coveted mount. This means that your first attempt of the day is your best shot at obtaining the X-45 Heartbreaker.

However, subsequent Heart-Shaped Boxes you earn on your characters after the first each day will drop the mount at the original rate, which may be less favorable. It's important to make the most of your first attempt to maximize your chances of obtaining the mount.

Event Dungeon: Shadowfang Keep

One of the highlights of the Love is in the Air event is the event dungeon, Shadowfang Keep. Players will venture into this dungeon to face off against Apothecary Hummel, who holds the X-45 Heartbreaker mount. Defeat him and you may be lucky enough to claim the fantastic flying fuchsia fuselage you've been dreaming of for so long.

The dungeon becomes available starting from February 6th at 6:00 p.m. GMT in all regions. Make sure to gear up and prepare yourself for this exciting challenge.

Observed Drop Rate Increase

While there hasn't been an official confirmation from Blizzard, data observed from the 2023 Love is in the Air event suggests that the chance of obtaining the X-45 Heartbreaker mount on your first attempt is around 1%, or roughly 1 in 100. This is a significant improvement compared to the original drop rate of 1 in 3333 for subsequent attempts. It's definitely worth giving it your all on your first attempt each day to increase your odds of getting the mount.

Good luck to all adventurers embarking on their quest for the X-45 Heartbreaker mount during the Love is in the Air event. May your efforts be rewarded, and may you ride off into the sunset on this magnificent fuchsia beauty.
