Greetings adventurers! Today, we are diving into The War Within, the latest expansion in the popular game. One of the exciting features introduced in this expansion is Delves, immersive scenarios that can be completed with a group of 1 to 5 players. We had the opportunity to explore Delves during the alpha build and we are here to share our thoughts and experiences with you!

The Adventure Begins: Entering Delves

Delves are easily accessible from the overworld. Simply approach the entrance and you will be presented with the option to enter. The best part? There are no loading screens! Just accept the prompt and you will instantly find yourself inside the delve, ready to embark on your journey.

Unveiling the Basics of Delves

Inside the delve, you will be accompanied by the legendary adventurer, Brann Bronzebeard. Brann will be at your side throughout your expedition, offering invaluable assistance. At the start of the delve, you can interact with Brann's supplies to customize his role and equip him accordingly. Once that is taken care of, it's time to focus on the objectives and begin your adventure!

Delves are reminiscent of the scenarios introduced in Mists of Pandaria, where you progress through a series of objectives. As you navigate through the delve, keep an eye out for side objectives such as rare mobs, treasure chests, herbs, and mining nodes. These encounters offer additional rewards and can significantly aid you in your journey. Don't worry if you can't gather the resources yourself, because Brann is more than willing to assist you!

If your group happens to face a wipe, fear not! Within the delve, you can discover summon stones that act as checkpoints. These stones are incredibly useful, granting you an extra checkpoint to fall back on in case things go awry.

After navigating through the delve and completing the various objectives, you will eventually come face to face with a formidable boss. The boss encounter we experienced during our run was quite intense, providing a formidable challenge. However, with proper coordination and strategy, we managed to overcome the obstacle.

Once the boss has been defeated, a treasure vault awaits you, filled with piles of gold and a chest brimming with rewards. As you progress to higher level delves, additional chests will appear, but these will require special keys to unlock.

In this alpha build, completing delves rewards players with gear and a brand new currency known as Resonant Crystals. These crystals can be used to purchase unique cosmetic items, such as the coveted kobold candle helms. To acquire these items, make your way to Dornogal and seek out Sir Finley Mrgglton.
