Added Blizzard Updates on Season 3 Trinket Feedback

October 02, 2023 2 minutes

Blizzard has recently addressed player feedback regarding Season 3 trinkets in the Patch 10.2 PTR. One of the major issues reported was the instant death of the Seedling, despite the player using various spells to protect it. However, Blizzard has confirmed that this issue has been fixed in the next PTR build. The Seedling will now spawn with 50% HP and burn down at a much slower rate, allowing players to effectively utilize it in combat.

Aside from the Seedling changes, there are a few other adjustments players can expect. The trinket now grants Intellect instead of Haste, offering a different stat focus for players. The 'Thank you' buff has also been changed to Mastery from Intellect. Although the healing cap has been lowered due to these changes, it has also been buffed to reflect that it cannot benefit from critical healing, unlike Augury of the Primal Flame, which can independently crit. Additionally, the healing increase per ally healed has been increased by 33%, making it easier for players to reach the full value of the healing cap without requiring additional healing cooldowns. However, combining these cooldowns with the trinket is still encouraged.

Positioning and Randomness

Blizzard has clarified that the positioning of the Seedling is entirely fixed in front of the player, with no randomness involved. This ensures consistency and reliability when utilizing the trinket in combat.

Blossom of Amirdrassil Changes

Another healing trinket, Blossom of Amirdrassil, has also received some adjustments. It now grants Haste instead of Intellect, enhancing the trinket's effectiveness for healers. The healing output has also been significantly increased, making it a more powerful tool in a healer's arsenal. A bug that set the threshold to proc at 20% health instead of the stated 85% tooltip value has been rectified.

Understanding the Design

Players have raised questions about the trinket's damage calculations and its tooltip value. Blizzard has clarified that the current intention is to have the trinket function as an "execute" trinket, dealing increased damage to low-health targets. However, this design choice has made it challenging to represent accurately in the tooltip. The DoT ticks are intended to be able to crit, but the AOE component should not have a separate crit chance from the DoT tick. These issues will be addressed and fixed in a future build.

Bug Reports

Players have reported bugs regarding sustained Augury buffs and damage calculations. Blizzard has acknowledged these reports and is investigating the possible issues, such as multiple targets affecting the duration of the Augury buff. Players are thanked for their reports and testing efforts, which help improve the overall gameplay experience.
