Blizzard Addresses Additional Demon Hunter and Trinket Feedback in Patch 10.2

September 25, 2023 3 minutes

Blizzard has recently responded to player feedback regarding Demon Hunter and trinket adjustments in Patch 10.2! They have taken into consideration the concerns raised by players and have made changes to movement-related talents for Demon Hunters.

Demon Hunter

One of the major concerns addressed is the usage of Fel Rush for damage on cooldown. This was deemed unhealthy, so Blizzard has adjusted the talent Isolated Prey. The talent used to block pathing for builds that avoided movement talents entirely, but now players have the option to choose this path if they prefer.

Momentum, another skill of Demon Hunters, will see an increase in both the base duration and the duration it can stack. This change aims to reduce the frequency of using these skills.

Blizzard will also be introducing a new talent that allows Fel Rush to be reactivated shortly after use, allowing players to dash back towards their starting location. This will eliminate the need to constantly reorient the camera when using Fel Rush for damage. Player feedback on this new talent will be crucial in determining its effectiveness.

Further details on these changes have not been disclosed yet, but Blizzard has confirmed that they have taken player feedback into account and will continue to make iterative changes to address common concerns.

Trinket

A specific trinket called Augury Notes has also received feedback from players. While the damage scaling appears to be correct, there are some uncertainties regarding how it interacts with the damage cap. The tooltip states that the limit increases per enemy struck, but this does not seem to be working as expected in practice.

One issue identified is that there is no value indicating how much limit is left, making it difficult to calculate the damage. Additionally, the limit does not behave predictably when more targets are added, sometimes ending earlier than expected.

The RPPM (Real Procs Per Minute) is currently flat and not hasted, contrary to what was indicated in an earlier post. Blizzard acknowledges these issues as potential bugs and will investigate them further.

Blizzard has updated the tooltip of Augury Notes to better reflect its mechanics. The damage cap now scales with Critical Strike and Versatility modifiers, similar to other damage trinket effects. These modifiers are taken into account after the damage cap calculations to ensure that the overall potential damage can scale appropriately.

In addition to the above changes, the duration of the trinket buff has been decreased to 20 seconds, reducing the chance of overwriting itself. However, the bonus critical damage has been increased to 50% to make up for this shorter window. Blizzard's intention is not for players to necessarily get the full value of the trinket every time it procs, but it should feel achievable during burst windows and reasonable at other times. These values will be further adjusted if necessary to meet these goals.

Conclusion

Blizzard's response to player feedback shows their commitment to improving the gameplay experience for Demon Hunters and addressing issues with trinkets. The adjustments to movement-related talents for Demon Hunters aim to provide more flexibility and reduce unhealthy gameplay patterns. The issues with the trinket Augury Notes are being investigated as potential bugs, and changes will be made to ensure the tooltips accurately reflect the mechanics. Overall, these changes demonstrate Blizzard's dedication to maintaining a balanced and enjoyable gaming experience for players, and with products from WowCarry, your experience will be the best!
