Expansion of Dracthyr Race Potential to Additional Classes - Update: Denied by Blizzard

Welcome to the world of Azeroth! In this blog post, written by WowCarry, we will be diving into the exciting details of the latest expansion for World of Warcraft - "The War Within". Recently, players have been buzzing about a screenshot that surfaced, featuring a level 13 character named Dracthyr wearing Leather armor. Could this mean that Dracthyr are being expanded to other classes in the new expansion? Let's find out!

The Dracthyr Mystery

In the screenshot, we can see a Dracthyr character who is level 13 and donning Leather armor. This has sparked speculation among players, as traditionally Dracthyr characters can only be Evokers and start at level 58 in their own starting zone. A level 13 Dracthyr is currently impossible according to the game's mechanics. Additionally, Dracthyr characters typically wear mail armor, so it would be quite unusual for them to be seen wearing a leather set.

To address this confusion, Blizzard Entertainment clarified during the WoW Deep Dive panel at BlizzCon that the Warband Character Select Screen was just an internal mockup and that there are no additional changes coming to Dracthyr class options in the upcoming expansion. So, it seems that players will have to wait a little longer before they can play Dracthyr characters in different classes.

The War Within: What's Next

While the expansion may not introduce new Dracthyr class options, it does promise an exciting leveling experience for players. Blizzard announced that Dragonflight will be the default leveling experience in The War Within. Additionally, a new class called Evokers will be introduced, starting at level 10. This means that players will have even more options when it comes to creating their characters in the expansion.

  • New Features and Updates

The War Within expansion brings a plethora of new content and features for players to explore. Here are some of the highlights:

  1. The introduction of Old World Dragonriding in patch 10.2.5
  2. The addition of Full Dracthyr Soar Dragonriding in patch 10.2.5
  3. A dynamic flying Druid Flight Form in patch 11.0
  4. Account-wide progression and renown
  5. Unlockable transmog options with any character

  • New Races and Class Updates

The War Within expansion also brings exciting updates to races and classes in the game:

Earthen Allied Race

Players will now have the option to play as Earthen Dwarfs for both the Alliance and Horde factions. This race will bring its unique abilities and playstyle to the game, adding diversity to the player base.

More Dracthyr Classes?

Although the expansion does not introduce additional Dracthyr class options, players can still look forward to new updates and improvements in terms of class fantasy. Blizzard aims to deepen the class experience through the introduction of Hero Talents, which will allow players to further customize their characters and enhance their class abilities.

  • New Zones, Dungeons, and Raids

To keep players immersed in the ever-expanding world of Azeroth, The War Within brings new zones, dungeons, and raids to explore:

Four New Zones

Players will have the chance to venture into four brand new zones, each with its own unique theme and challenges. Prepare to uncover hidden treasures and face dangerous foes as you explore these uncharted territories.

Eight Dungeons

Delve into the depths of eight challenging dungeons, filled with traps, puzzles, and powerful enemies. Team up with your allies to conquer these trials and earn valuable rewards.

First Raid: Nerub'ar Palace

Conquer the fearsome Nerub'ar Palace, a massive raid filled with epic battles and formidable bosses. Gather your strongest allies and prove your worth as you seek glory and riches.

Conclusion

The War Within expansion promises to take players on an epic journey through new zones, dungeons, and raids. While the screenshot that sparked the Dracthyr mystery turned out to be a mockup, there are still plenty of exciting features and updates to look forward to. So gear up, prepare your spells, and get ready to embark on an unforgettable adventure in the world of Azeroth!
