Feedback on Trinkets in Season 3 - Nymue's Unveiling Spindle & Rashok's Scorching Core

September 22, 2023 2 minutes

Blizzard has recently addressed player feedback regarding trinkets in Dragonflight Season 3 and has announced upcoming changes to two specific trinkets - Nymue's Unraveling Spindle and Rashok's Molten Heart.

Nymue's Unraveling Spindle

  • Initial Feedback

A player named Publik expressed their disappointment with Nymue's Unraveling Spindle, stating that the trinket didn't feel enjoyable to use due to its underwhelming damage output and lackluster Mastery buff.

  • Blizzard's Response

Blizzard appreciated the feedback and testing data provided by Publik. As a result, they have made several changes to Nymue's Unraveling Spindle in the upcoming build:

  1. The channeling time has been reduced to 3 seconds, and corresponding adjustments to damage and Mastery values have been made.
  2. The duration of the Mastery buff has been increased to 18 seconds.
  3. Mastery has been increased by approximately 40%, even after accounting for the duration and channeling changes. The current value on the PTR was deemed as a bug related to lost rotation time.
  4. The damage per second channeled has also been increased, albeit to a lesser extent.
  5. The bonus damage to rooted targets has been boosted to 50%.

Rashok's Molten Heart

  • Initial Feedback

Caithyra pointed out that there seemed to be a lack of impactful healing trinkets in the current raid tier. They mentioned that players might still rely on Rashok's Molten Heart for a while.

  • Blizzard's Response

Blizzard acknowledged the issue and confirmed that healing trinkets will be receiving tuning adjustments in the upcoming weeks. They specifically addressed Rashok's Molten Heart, noting that it has provided more power than intended and will require further changes, in addition to the planned reduction in mana restoration.

Trinket Change
Nymue's Unraveling Spindle Channel reduced to 3 sec with corresponding adjustments to damage and Mastery values
Mastery buff duration increased to 18 sec
Mastery increased by ~40% even after the duration and channel changes; the current value on the PTR is essentially a bug related to accounting for lost rotation time
Damage per sec channeled has also been increased to a lesser extent
Bonus damage to rooted targets increased to 50%
Rashok's Molten Heart Healing trinkets will be seeing tuning adjustments in coming weeks
Additional changes required beyond the mana restore reduction

Conclusion

Blizzard has actively listened to player feedback and is committed to making necessary adjustments to trinkets in Dragonflight Season 3. The changes to both Nymue's Unraveling Spindle and Rashok's Molten Heart aim to address concerns raised by players and improve their overall usability and effectiveness.
